Job summary

Egis Group in Abu Dhabi seeks a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to manage costs, contracts, and commercial aspects of infrastructure maintenance projects. You will support managers, prepare cost forecasts, and oversee subcontractor procurement.

The role requires a degree in Quantity Surveying or related field, with MRICS/MCInstCES desirable and UAE construction knowledge. Full-time, on-site work with opportunities for process improvement and KPIs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related field.
  • MRICS or MCInstCES certification is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying, preferably in infrastructure maintenance projects.
  • Strong knowledge of contract management, procurement options and risk management processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, and familiar with quantity surveying software.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of UAE construction industry standards, practices and local building codes in Abu Dhabi.
  • PRINCE2 Accreditation is advantageous.
  • Ability to adapt to new ideas and demonstrate flexibility in a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Conduct site visits and work flexibly when required.

Responsibilities

  • Administrate and implement change control including the administration of Works Order Contract Works and Purchase Orders
  • Support the Project Manager and Division Director in preparing and submitting SubContractor Payment Certificates Internal & External Forecasting and Accruals
  • Maintain a database of accredited subcontractors and advise on procurement strategy
  • Manage the pursuit of Green Claim income liaising with specialist legal representatives and loss adjusters
  • Ensure compliance with statutory legislation and internal policies related to Commercial processes
  • Prepare detailed reports on project costs budgets and financial forecasts
  • Support the Commercial Manager in achieving commercially driven objectives and monitoring Key Performance Indicators
  • Promote continual improvement within the organization and implement effective corrective and preventive measures
  • Advise colleagues from other departments on Commercial issues relevant to their work
  • Ensure effective control and evaluation of key suppliers and subcontractors
  • Conduct site visits as necessary to assess project progress and costs

  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Experience in bidding processes and proposal preparation
  • Working experience in construction estimation software (CCS Candy)
  • Knowledge of UAE construction industry standards practices and local building codes in Abu Dhabi
  • PRINCE2 Accreditation is advantageous
  • Ability to adapt to new ideas and demonstrate flexibility in a dynamic work environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Conduct site visits and work flexibly when required
