Job summary

Stantec seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Dubai to lead commercial management on large water infrastructure projects, including STP facilities, sewerage networks, and pumping stations.

You will oversee cost control, contract administration, claims handling, and final accounts while coordinating with project teams, clients, and authorities to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in quantity surveying and commercial management.
• Proven experience in Sewage Water Treatment Plants (STP), wastewater treatment facilities, sewerage networks, drainage, stormwater, pumping stations, and water infrastructure projects.
• Sound knowledge of FIDIC contracts and contract administration practices; experience in claims management and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of major water infrastructure projects.
• Lead cost management, contract administration, claims management, variation assessment and project financial control.
• Manage all quantity surveying and commercial activities on water infrastructure and utility projects.
• Prepare cost estimates, quantity take-offs, BOQs, tender documentation and contract documents.
• Administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements.
• Review, evaluate, and negotiate variations, claims, extension of time submissions and additional cost claims.
• Prepare, submit and negotiate interim payment applications and final accounts.
• Monitor project budgets, cash flow forecasts and commercial performance.
• Provide commercial and contractual support to Project Managers, Resident Engineers and project teams.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, contract administration and final account settlements.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and recommend mitigation measures.
• Maintain accurate records of contractual correspondence and project financial data.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants and authorities on commercial and contractual matters.

• play a key role in cost management contract administration claims management variation assessment and project financial control throughout the project lifecycle
• manage all quantity surveying and commercial activities on water infrastructure and utility projects
• prepare cost estimates quantity take-offs Bills of Quantities BOQs tender documentation and contract documents
• administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements
• review evaluate and negotiate variations claims extension of time submissions and additional cost claims

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
• Minimum 10 years of experience in quantity surveying and commercial management
• Proven experience in Sewage Water Treatment Plants (STP), wastewater treatment facilities, sewerage networks, drainage, stormwater, pumping stations, and water infrastructure projects
• Strong Middle East experience, preferably within the UAE.Dubai Municipality project experience is highly desirable
• Sound knowledge of FIDIC contracts and contract administration practices.Experience in claims management, variation assessment, cost control, and final account negotiations
• Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and commercial management software
