Job summary

Whizz HR is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage all cost and commercial aspects of interior fit-out projects from estimation to handover. The role requires strong analytical, negotiation, and project coordination skills to keep projects within budget and maximize value.

Responsibilities include preparing cost estimates and BOQs, reviewing drawings and specs, and coordinating with subcontractors and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years experience in quantity surveying within interior fit-out industry.
• Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD and estimation software (Candy/CostX).
• Strong analytical, mathematical and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and tender documents for interior fit-out projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and material requirements for accurate pricing.
• Source and evaluate quotations from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Manage project budgets, track costs, and prepare financial progress reports.
• Prepare/process variations, interim valuations, and final accounts.
• Conduct site visits for measurement, progress verification, and cost monitoring.
• Assist in contract negotiation and ensure compliance with terms.
• Support procurement in identifying cost-effective materials and subcontractors.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement value engineering solutions.
• Coordinate with project managers, designers, and site teams for smooth execution.
• Maintain documentation of all commercial activities including purchase orders and payment certificates.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in quantity surveying within the interior fit-out industry.
• Strong knowledge of fit-out materials, finishes, joinery, and MEP coordination.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Auto CAD, and estimation software (e.g., Candy, Cost X, or similar).
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and negotiation skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and reporting abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with high-end commercial, retail, and hospitality fit-out projects.
• Familiarity with local market rates, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of FIDIC contracts and project cost control techniques.
