Job summary

Penta Global Engineering in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector – Coating to join our Oil & Gas/EPC project team. You will oversee surface prep, blasting, painting and coating activities, ensuring compliance with approved specs and ITPs.

The role requires 6+ years in coating QA/QC on O&G/EPC projects, strong knowledge of inspection techniques, and familiarity with NACE/AMPP and SSPC standards. Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred; certification highly valued.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or relevant technical qualification.
• Minimum 5+ years of Coating/QA/QC Inspection experience in Oil & Gas / EPC projects.
• Strong knowledge of surface preparation, blasting, painting, protective coatings, and inspection techniques.
• Knowledge of NACE/AMPP, SSPC, ISO, ASTM and project-specific coating standards.
• Experience with DFT/WFT measurement, surface profile, dew point, humidity, adhesion, and holiday testing.
• NACE/AMPP Coating Inspector certification will be highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor surface preparation, abrasive blasting, painting, and coating activities as per approved specifications and ITPs.
• Verify surface cleanliness, surface profile, environmental conditions, and coating application requirements.
• Conduct inspections for DFT/WFT, adhesion, holiday testing, visual inspection, and coating defects.
• Review and verify paint/coating materials, batch numbers, shelf life, certificates, and technical data sheets.
• Ensure compliance with approved Method Statements, ITPs, project specifications, and manufacturer recommendations.
• Coordinate with Client/Consultant and Third-Party Inspectors for inspection and approval activities.
• Monitor coating application and ensure proper mixing, thinning, curing, and application procedures.
• Raise and follow up NCRs, observations, and corrective actions related to coating activities.
• Maintain inspection reports, checklists, coating records, and QA/QC documentation for project handover.
