Job summary

Wood is seeking UAE National Quality Engineers for Sharjah, open to fresh graduates and professionals with up to 10 years in Oil & Gas. The role focuses on QA/QC activities, documentation, audits, and continuous improvement to meet client and project standards.

The position supports Emiratization objectives and requires collaboration across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover teams in a dynamic project environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with internship or project experience in Oil & Gas
• Understanding of QA/QC processes and ISO/QMS standards
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, API, ASME, ASTM standards
• Experience reviewing ITPs, Quality Procedures, Method Statements, material docs
• Proficiency with MS Office and document management systems

Responsibilities

• Support and implement QA/QC activities to ensure compliance with project specs and client requirements
• Review quality records, inspection reports, and documentation for completeness and compliance
• Participate in internal audits, site inspections and quality surveillance
• Monitor NCRs and drive corrective and preventive actions
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction and client reps on quality matters
• Maintain quality documentation and records per project requirements
• Mentor junior quality engineers and inspectors
• Interface with clients, certification bodies, suppliers, and project stakeholders on quality issues

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will support and implement Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, international standards, and company quality management systems.

Key Responsibilities

For Graduate and Junior Engineers (0-3 Years)

• Assist in the implementation of Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
• Support QA/QC activities during engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Review quality records, inspection reports, and documentation for completeness and compliance.
• Participate in internal audits, site inspections, and quality surveillance activities.
• Assist in monitoring non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and preventive actions.
• Support project teams in ensuring adherence to quality procedures and standards.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and client representatives on quality-related matters.
• Maintain quality documentation and records in accordance with project requirements.
• Participate in quality trainings and continuous improvement initiatives

For Mid-Level and Senior Engineers (4-10 Years)

• Develop, implement, and maintain project Quality Management Systems and Quality Plans.
• Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Quality Procedures.
• Conduct internal and external quality audits and inspections.
• Monitor project quality KPIs and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
• Review vendor and subcontractor quality documentation and performance.
• Investigate non-conformances and lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards, client specifications, and applicable industry codes.
• Interface with clients, certification bodies, suppliers, and project stakeholders on quality matters.
• Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover activities.Mentor and guide junior quality engineers and inspectors.

Qualifications:

• Fresh Graduates (0-2 Years) - Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline with an internship or Project experience within Oil and Gas
• Junior Engineer / Engineer (3-10 Years) - Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS)
• Familiarity with: ISO 9001 , API Standards , ASME Codes , ASTM Standards , Client and Project Quality Requirements
• Experience reviewing: Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) , Quality Procedures , Method Statements , Material Certification Documentation , Welding Documentation ,Manufacturing and Inspection Records.
• Understanding of audit methodologies and root cause analysis techniques.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
• This position is open exclusively to UAE Nationals holding a valid UAE Family Book.
