Overview
Job description with responsibilities for quality control testing of raw materials and manufactured products, participation in trials for product cost reduction and performance enhancement, and reprocessing as needed. The role requires flexibility with working hours across three daily production shifts.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to safety procedures in-line with the company’s HSE policy.
- Fully understand the national, local, company, and group HSE policy, procedures, and regulations.
- Conduct and report all tests for controlling quality of manufactured products and raw materials and approval through DAX.
- Assist evaluation of raw materials.
- Assist re-validation of expired materials, reprocessing of returned materials, and complaint investigation trials.
- Follow the safety shutdown checklist.
- Ensure the lab is well stocked and report shortage of material or equipment.
- Conduct daily activities for QC lab as per QC chemist / QC Manager instructions.
- Coordinate and attend general development activities set by the QC Chemist and QC Manager.
- Maintain Quality records (yellow cards) for RM and manufactured product with updated QC specifications.
- Maintain all trackers related to QC such as retained sample, compressive strength, shrinkage.
- Maintain all receiving registers related to incoming RM, finished product, revalidation, source approval.
- Assist in internal calibration.
- Ensure traceability of all technical work undertaken
- Maintain appropriate records of the above work in laboratory notebook.
Skills & Qualifications
- The jobholder must be a graduate in chemistry from a recognised university.
- Good communication skills at various levels.
- Good level of computer knowledge in MS Office.
- Previous experience, knowledge in testing of construction chemicals.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment.
Educational requirements
A Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
