Job summary

AMS Group is seeking a Quality Control QC Inspector Engineer in Abu Dhabi to oversee QC across shipyard operations, lead certification audits, and liaise with government authorities during inspections.

The role requires UAE National status, strong QC and inspection experience, ISO 9001 familiarity with NDT Level II, and a Diploma/Bachelor's in Mechanical, Marine, or Naval Architecture. You will prepare reports and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• UAE National (mandatory).
• Strong working knowledge of quality control procedures and inspection practices in shipyard environments.
• Experience dealing with certification bodies, government authorities and external auditors.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems; Internal Auditor certification is a plus.
• NDT Level II certification.
• Proficient in preparing inspection reports, checklists and quality records.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work under pressure.

Job description

As a Quality Control QC Inspector Engineer you will be responsible for managing and ensuring consistent quality standards across all shipyard operations. As part of our AM For Yachts amp Aluminum Boats Industries team in Abu Dhabi you ll work in an ONSITE environment taking charge of all QC activities related to the yard leading certification body audits and interacting with government authorities when inspections or official site visits occur.

Responsibilities

• Manage all Quality Control QC activities related to shipyard operations and ensure compliance with established standards
• Monitor quality of workmanship throughout all project stages within the yard
• Prepare and maintain QC inspection reports, records, checklists, and other relevant documentation
• Coordinate and support audits by certification bodies, classification societies and external auditors
• Work closely with government authorities, surveyors and third-party inspectors during official inspections ensuring all required documentation is available and up-to-date
• Identify non-conformities, issue corrective action reports, track progress and ensure closure of all findings
• Support and contribute towards the continuous improvement of shipyard processes, procedures and quality standards

Requirements and Qualifications

• Proven experience dealing with certification bodies, government authorities, and various external auditors during inspections
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree; Mechanical, Marine, Naval Architecture, or related engineering fields are an added advantage
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems (Internal Auditor certification considered a plus)
• Proficient in preparing inspection reports, checklists, and maintaining detailed quality records
• NDT Level II certification
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain effective under pressure and deliver results within tight project deadlines
