Job Purpose / Brief Job Description

The Quality Assurance (QA) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing quality control processes within the water production facility, focusing on microbiology lab analysis, customer complaint follow-up and verification, and conducting internal audits across all factory and company departments.

This role ensures that products meet internal and external quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.

The QA Supervisor must also have an in-depth understanding of various industry audits and certifications, including ISO 22000 for food safety certification, US Army audit requirements, Halal certification, and AIB (American Institute of Baking) standards.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Microbiology Lab Analysis: Conduct and oversee microbiological testing to ensure water product safety and quality. Accurately document and interpret results, identifying and addressing any microbiological risks.
  • Customer Complaint Follow-Up and Verification: Investigate, verify, and follow up on customer complaints related to product quality.
  • Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to resolve issues.
  • Internal Audits: Conduct regular internal audits of all factory and company departments to ensure compliance with quality, food safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Document findings, address non-conformances, and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Oversee daily quality control processes within production to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards.
  • Inspect water production, bottling, and packaging lines to maintain high product quality.
  • Monitor the quality of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
  • Review and analyze test results, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards and certifications, including ISO 9001, HACCP, and ISO 22000.
  • Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with certification standards including US Army audit, Ha1a1 requirements, and AIB audit criteria.
  • Provide supervision and support to the quality team, including quality inspectors and laboratory staff.
  • Conduct training to keep team members current on quality standards, testing procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of quality inspections, testing, audit findings, and compliance reports.
  • Prepare and submit regular quality control reports to management, focusing on microbiology findings, customer complaints, and corrective actions.
  • Assist in the preparation for external inspections and audits, including Ha1a1, AIB, and US Army.
  • Identify and analyze non-conformance issues, conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Implement and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for identified quality issues.
  • Collaborate with production and other departments to optimize quality control processes and improve production efficiency.
  • Assist in updating procedures to ensure ongoing product quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Promote adherence to food safety and water quality regulations, including HACCP and ISO 22000, throughout the facility.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices relevant to quality assurance in water treatment and production.
Competencies & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field. Certifications in quality management or food safety (e.g., ISO, HACCP) are mandatory.

Experience: 7-10 years in quality assurance or control, with experience in microbiology lab analysis, customer complaint management, and internal auditing within the food and beverage or water production industry. Knowledge of audits related to ISO 22000, the US Army, Halal, and AIB is essential.

Skills

Strong knowledge of quality management systems, food safety standards, and regulatory compliance, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, HACCP.

Proficiency in microbiological testing, customer complaint resolution, and internal auditing practices.

Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, along with effective team supervision skills.
