Job summary

CPL Aromas Dubai is seeking a QC Technician to join the quality control team. You will ensure incoming and outgoing raw materials and fragrance batches are tested to specifications and document non-conformances for rework.

Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, you will support production, perform data entry in the QC system, and help maintain GMP standards. The role requires a chemistry degree, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in chemistry as required.
  • Excellent sense of smell and pass the smell assessment.
  • Eye for detail with high data integrity.
  • Ability to work under pressure both in team and solo.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Accurate data recording and documentation.
  • Good time management and shift flexibility.
  • Effective communication at all levels.
  • Experience in fragrance/chemical industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Release raw materials, fragrance and lab batches to specification.
  • Assist production with material/batch queries.
  • Retest batches proactively as required.
  • Provide clear rework instructions for issues.
  • Enter data into QC system accurately.
  • Record non-conformances and rework/blending as needed.
  • Obtain supplier specifications and update database.
  • Keep QC system updated and clean.
  • Release and maintain materials/batches in Dynamics AX.
  • Liaise with Customer Services on batch delays.
  • Maintain clean and safe workspace.
  • Adhere to QESH policies and procedures.
  • Carry out additional duties as directed.

Job Purpose

Report to the Quality Control Manager, and supporting the production team, the QC Technician will be responsible for ensuring all incoming and outgoing raw materials and fragrance batches are subjected to the relevant quality control tests, to determine differences in quality, investigate and record non-conformances and reworking according to specification as and when required.

Job Purpose

Report to the Quality Control Manager, and supporting the production team, the QC Technician will be responsible for ensuring all incoming and outgoing raw materials and fragrance batches are subjected to the relevant quality control tests, to determine differences in quality, investigate and record non-conformances and reworking according to specification as and when required.


Tasks and Responsibilities


  • Release raw materials, fragrance batches and laboratory batches after testing to specifications

  • Assist production with any queries relating to raw material or production batches

  • Proactive retesting of all batches and materials due

  • Problem solving and issue of clear rework instructions

  • Accurately reading and entering all data onto QC SYSTEM with due regard for specification

  • Record all non-conformances, reworking sand blending where possible

  • Obtain specifications from suppliers for raw materials and enter onto database

  • Keep QC SYSTEM updated and clean

  • Release and maintenance of materials and batches in Dynamics AX

  • Liaise with Customer services in the event of delays to batches

  • Keep workspace clean and tidy

  • Adhere to company’s quality, environmental, health and safety policies and procedures

  • Additional duties as directed by the line manager.


Skills And Attributes Required


  • Degree in chemistry

  • Excellent sense of smell and pass the Company smelling assessment test with a pass mark of >16

  • Excellent eye for detail

  • The ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure, in a team and as an individual

  • Good problem-solving skills

  • The ability to accurately record all data

  • Good time Management, flexibility required to cover shifts

  • Good communication ability at all levels

  • Previous experience in fragrance/chemical industry preferred
