A renowned maritime engineering company in Dubai is seeking an experienced electrical inspector. You will be responsible for inspecting electrical systems, ensuring compliance with specifications, and conducting thorough testing. A minimum of 2 years in ship repair/newbuilding and a Bachelor's or Diploma in Electrical Engineering is required. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality electrical installations.
Inspect the installation of electrical systems including power supply, lighting and wiring ensuring they conform to project specifications and standards.
Review electrical drawings (single‑line diagrams, schematics) to ensure the installation matches the design requirements.
Ensure that all electrical equipment (cables, breakers, panels, transformers, etc.) meets the required specifications before installation.
Verify the proper installation of electrical components including cable trays, wiring, grounding and junction boxes ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Conduct testing on electrical systems and components such as insulation resistance, continuity and power supply functionality.
Perform routine inspections to verify that all electrical installations are operational and in line with engineering specifications.
Identify and document non‑conformities in electrical systems and report findings to the QA/QC lead for corrective action.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations during inspections.
Prepare detailed reports on inspection results including findings, recommendations and corrective actions.
Verify calibration of electrical instruments and ensure all testing equipment is functioning correctly.
Support the commissioning team to ensure electrical systems are properly tested and functional before handover.
Conduct final inspections and prepare electrical systems for handover to the client or operations team.
Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues during the installation and commissioning phases.
Monitor the performance of electrical systems during testing and verify they meet operational standards.
A minimum of 2 years of work experience in ship repair/newbuilding.
Candidates must hold a Bachelors / Diploma in Engineering (Electrical) or a related field.
