Job summary

MEMCO Steel & Pole Manufacturing LLC is seeking an experienced QC Engineer with hands-on experience in steel fabrication, structural steel, lighting poles, and metal manufacturing.

The QC Engineer will monitor quality throughout the manufacturing process—from incoming raw materials to fabrication, welding, surface treatment, painting/coating, and final inspection, ensuring compliance with drawings and UAE/international standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• QA/QC certification is an advantage.
• Welding inspection certification such as CSWIP/AWS is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Inspect raw materials upon receipt and during fabrication.
• Perform dimensional inspections to ensure drawings comply with specifications.
• Check welding quality and coating processes.
• Prepare NCRs, inspection reports, and quality records.
• Coordinate with production and third-party inspectors as required.

Job description

MEMCO Steel & Pole Manufacturing LLC is looking for an experienced QC Engineer with hands-on experience in steel fabrication, steel structures, lighting poles, and metal manufacturing.

The QC Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining quality standards throughout the manufacturing process, from incoming raw materials to fabrication, welding, surface treatment, painting/coating, and final inspection.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect raw materials such as steel plates, sheets, pipes, sections, and other materials upon receipt.
• Conduct quality inspections throughout the steel and pole manufacturing process.
• Inspect fabrication, cutting, bending, welding, grinding, assembly, and finishing activities.
• Perform dimensional inspections to ensure products comply with approved drawings and specifications.
• Check welding quality and ensure compliance with approved procedures and applicable standards.
• Monitor surface preparation, painting, powder coating, and/or galvanizing processes.
• Conduct final inspection of street lighting poles, high mast poles, CCTV poles, decorative poles, flagpoles, and other steel products.
• Prepare inspection reports, checklists, NCRs, and quality documentation.
• Identify non-conforming materials/products and coordinate corrective actions with the production team.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Warehouse, and Project teams regarding quality requirements.
• Review technical drawings, specifications, inspection requirements, and material certificates.
• Maintain proper QC records, inspection reports, test certificates, and material documentation.
• Coordinate with third-party inspectors and clients during inspections when required.
• Monitor corrective and preventive actions to ensure quality issues are properly resolved.
• Assist in developing and improving QC procedures, inspection checklists, and SOPs.
• Ensure finished products meet customer specifications and applicable UAE/international standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, rework, and material wastage.

Required Experience

• 2–5 years of QC/QA experience in steel fabrication, structural steel, steel poles, lighting poles, or metal manufacturing.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of steel fabrication and welding inspection.
• Experience with dimensional inspection and reading engineering/fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of steel materials, welding consumables, fabrication processes, and surface treatment.
• Experience with painting, powder coating, hot-dip galvanizing, or other protective coating processes is an advantage.
• Knowledge of applicable quality standards and inspection procedures.
• Experience preparing NCRs, inspection reports, ITPs, checklists, and quality records.
• UAE manufacturing/fabrication experience is preferred.
• Experience with lighting poles or similar steel products is highly preferred.

• Good knowledge of MS Office and preparation of QC documentation.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with production teams.
