Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy in Dubai seeks a Quality Control & Assurance professional to implement QA/QC programs for MEP systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in infrastructure projects, particularly in QA/QC for MEP systems, and strong communication and problem-solving skills. Job description
Quality Control & Assurance

Implement and manage the QA/QC program for all MEP systems ensuring compliance with contract documents, standards, and project requirements. Conduct inspections of MEP installations, materials, and equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards. Review and monitor MEP subcontractors’ work to ensure quality assurance in line with the project’s expectations and timelines. Prepare and submit regular quality control reports to project management. Provide feedback and recommendations for improving quality processes. Participate in safety audits and promote a culture of safety on the job site.

Inspection & Testing

Perform regular inspections of MEP installations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, as per the test plan and checklist based on project specifications. Coordinate and oversee testing of MEP systems, including functional performance and safety testing. Prepare inspection and test reports documenting any deviations or discrepancies found during inspections and tests. Verify the proper use of materials and that all MEP systems comply with relevant codes and standards.

Documentation & Reporting

Prepare detailed QA/QC reports, non‑conformance reports (NCR), and corrective action reports (CAR) for any identified issues. Review and ensure the accuracy of MEP drawings, technical submittals, and other project documentation. Maintain records for daily activities on site, including progress photos, and ensure they are readily available for inspection as and when required. Maintain and manage all quality‑related documentation, including inspection records, test reports, and certifications.

Collaboration

Work closely with clients, consultants, project engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve quality‑related issues and implement corrective actions when necessary. Communicate and collaborate effectively with vendors and suppliers to ensure that materials and equipment meet quality standards. Participate in project meetings to discuss quality issues and solutions.

Compliance & Standards

Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, quality standards, and building codes for MEP systems. Strong understanding of MEP system codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NEC, IPC). Stay up to date with the latest industry standards and regulations, ensuring the project adheres to any changes or updates.

Training & Development

Provide guidance and training to site personnel on quality control procedures, MEP standards, and best practices. Conduct internal audits and assessments to improve quality processes and project efficiency.

Problem‑Solving & Issue Resolution

Identify and resolve quality‑related issues, proposing solutions to prevent delays or cost overruns. Investigate the root cause of non‑compliances and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications
  • Good written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with project personnel and management.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction‑related processes in the area of assignment.
  • Own vehicle – petrol allowance will be provided.
  • Minimum of 4–8 years of experience in infrastructure projects in the UAE.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in QA/QC within the infrastructure sector, focusing on MEP systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Certifications in QA/QC (e.g., ISO 9001) are a plus.
  • Own vehicle and driving license required.
