Job summary

Al Jomaih Energy and Water is looking for a QA/QC Lead for a greenfield CCGT project located in Al Taweelah, Abu Dhabi. This role engages in the full lifecycle of the project from design to operation, emphasizing quality control and assurance.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, over 10 years of experience including 5 years with CCGT Power Plants, and strong leadership qualities. Experience in the GCC area is preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with at least 5 years with CCGT Power Plants.
• GCC experience will be an advantage.
• Good understanding in International Codes and Standards such as ASME, API, IEEE.

Responsibilities

• Developing QA/QC procedure for the CCGT project execution as per the PPA and EPC Contract.
• Review of the quality document submitted by the EPC Contractor.
• Lead the QA/QC engineers to monitor & inspect the EPC Contractor quality works.

Project Overview

This is a greenfield CCGT project to be constructed with a net power capacity of 2400 MW, together with its ancillary equipment, associated infrastructure and facilities. The Project comprises the Plant and associated Electrical Special Facilities (ESF). The Plant will be located inland at a site situated approximately 50 km north-east of the City of Abu Dhabi.

This role offers a unique opportunity to engage in the full lifecycle of the project, from design and engineering to construction and operation, all within a dynamic and innovative environment. This project promises stability and long-term impact.

Location

Taweelah, Abu Dhabi, UAE (Site is approx. 30 kms to 40 kms from Abu Dhabi city).

Job Overview

Control the quality and procedures during the CCGT project execution.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Developing QA/QC procedure for the CCGT project execution as per the PPA and EPC Contract and ISO standards.
• Review of the quality document, MSRA, ITP, inspection checklist and procedures submitted by the EPC Contractor.
• Lead the QA/QC engineers to monitor & inspect the EPC Contractor quality works for all the Civil works, Mechanical and Electrical as per the approved drawings and specifications.
• Highlighting quality related issues to the construction team and providing technical advice.
• Other tasks assigned by Project Manager/Director for the project schedule controls.

Qualification & Skill Sets

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience with at least 5 years with CCGT Power Plants.
• GCC experience will be an advantage.
• Good software knowledge and skills in MS Office.
• Good understanding in International Codes and Standards such as ASME, API, IEEE, rules and regulations.
• Strong leadership presence, interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate with EPC contractors, and internal departments.
