Job Description

The QA-QC Inspector - Rail will provide field-based quality inspection support across civil works, including earthworks, concrete, structures, drainage, and utilities. Working in accordance with the project 's Quality Management Plan, the inspector will verify construction activities before acceptance and ensure inspection findings are properly documented. The position requires practical knowledge of construction quality procedures and the ability to work closely with contractor quality teams, engineering personnel, and project management while maintaining a quality-first approach on site.

Site Inspection and Surveillance

• Conduct daily inspections of civil construction activities, including earthworks, concrete, structures, drainage and utilities.
• Perform inspection and surveillance in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans, method statements, and applicable hold and witness points.
• Verify materials and workmanship against approved drawings, specifications, project standards and applicable codes.
• Attend and witness testing activities, including concrete cube testing, compaction and density testing, and welding inspections.
• Review test results against the applicable acceptance criteria.
• Inspect subgrade, embankment, and compaction activities associated with earthworks.
• Verify concrete works covering formwork, reinforcement, concrete pours, and curing.
• Inspect structures including bridges, culverts, retaining walls and buildings.
• Conduct quality inspections of drainage and utility works.

Non-Conformance Management and Quality Records

• Raise Non-Conformance Reports for materials or construction work that does not satisfy approved requirements.
• Track NCRs through the required corrective process and close-out.
• Complete inspection checklists, daily quality reports, and Inspection Request records for inspected activities.
• Maintain complete and accurate inspection records, photographs, and supporting quality documentation.
• Assist in preparing inspection and testing packages required for project handover and close-out.

Coordination and Quality Compliance

• Liaise with contractor quality teams to coordinate inspection requests, inspection schedules, and hold and witness points.
• Work with design and engineering teams to address non-conformances, technical queries, and deviations requiring clarification or approval.
• Provide supporting records and evidence during internal and external quality audits and inspections.
• Report inspection findings, recurring issues, and quality trends to the QA-QC Manager.
• Escalate significant quality concerns promptly when identified.
• Ensure site activities comply with the project Quality Management Plan, contractual quality requirements and applicable codes and standards.
• Support contractor personnel in understanding and meeting project quality requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 5 years of inspection or site supervision experience.
• Knowledge of construction quality procedures.
• University degree or demonstrated equivalent experience in civil engineering or inspection.
• Middle East or UAE experience is highly advantageous.
• Rail experience is preferable.
