Job summary

Waagner Biro Bridge Services in the UAE seeks a Marine QA/QC Inspector to uphold quality on marine construction projects and ensure compliance with plans and standards.

You will monitor inspections of pontoon structures, pile foundations, and steel fabrication, coordinating with teams to verify tests and records for safety and conformity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of QA/QC experience in marine construction.
• Valid driving license with own vehicle.
• ISO 9001 certification or equivalent quality qualification.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the approved Project Quality Plan, ITPs, Method Statements, and QA/QC procedures for marine construction works.
• Inspect pontoon, floating structures, jetties, walkways, pile foundations, and marine access structures.
• Monitor pile installation, alignment, verticality, driving records, pile integrity testing, and load testing.
• Inspect reinforcement, formwork, embedded items, concrete pouring, curing, and repair works for marine structures.
• Verify fabrication and installation of steel structures, handrails, brackets, connections, welding, bolting, and coatings.
• Inspect walkway and jetty installation, including decking, supports, connections, levels, alignment, and finishing works.
• Coordinate and witness material inspections, laboratory tests, concrete cube tests, welding/NDT tests, and other quality tests.
• Raise, monitor, and close NCRs, observations, RFIs, inspection requests, and corrective/preventive actions with construction team.
• Review Material Submittals, MTCs, test certificates, calibration certificates, inspection reports, and as-built quality records for compliance.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, surveyors, and site teams to ensure marine works are executed safely and in accordance with drawings and standards.

About the Role

• 5. Verify fabrication and installation of steel structures, handrails, brackets, connections, welding, bolting, and protective coating systems.
• 6. Conduct inspections for walkway and jetty installation, including decking, supports, connections, levels, alignment, and finishing works.
• 7. Coordinate and witness required material inspections, laboratory tests, concrete cube tests, welding/NDT tests, and other quality tests.
• 8. Raise, monitor, and close NCRs, observations, RFIs, inspection requests, and corrective/preventive actions in coordination with the construction team.
• 9. Review Material Submittals, MTCs, test certificates, calibration certificates, inspection reports, and as-built quality records for compliance.
• 10. Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, surveyors, and site teams to ensure marine works are executed safely and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.
