Job description

The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all fit-out and joinery works meet the required quality standards, project specifications, and client expectations. This role involves conducting inspections, developing quality control procedures, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Control
  • Implement and maintain the company’s QA/QC procedures for fit‑out and joinery works.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and materials to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Conduct inspections of raw materials, in‑process work, and finished products.
  • Prepare method statements, inspection test plans (ITP), and quality control procedures.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues, non‑conformities, and deviations from project requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure the correct execution of all joinery and fit‑out works, including carpentry, painting, polishing, and installation.
Site & Factory Inspections
  • Conduct site inspections and factory visits to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Verify dimensions, finishes, and overall workmanship of joinery items.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with production and site teams to rectify quality issues.
Testing & Documentation
  • Maintain proper documentation of inspections, test reports, and quality control records.
  • Ensure that all quality‑related reports, checklists, and NCRs (Non‑Conformance Reports) are properly maintained.
  • Conduct material testing and ensure materials meet approved specifications.
  • Assist in third‑party inspections and audits as required.
Coordination & Communication
  • Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and production teams to implement quality control measures.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors regarding quality‑related issues.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the team on quality‑related matters.
  • Conduct training and awareness sessions on quality standards and best practices.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Contribute to the development of quality management systems and improvement plans.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, materials, and quality control techniques.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in QA/QC, preferably in fit‑out and joinery.
  • Strong knowledge of wood, veneers, laminates, adhesives, paints, and other joinery materials.
  • Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001, BS, and ASTM standards.
  • Experience with site and factory quality inspections.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to quality control.
