Job summary

NSR Associates in Dubai, UAE is seeking an experienced QA/QC Engineer to implement and maintain QA/QC procedures across hospitality, residential, and commercial interior fit-out projects. You will ensure works meet drawings, specs and UAE regulations while coordinating with project teams and consultants.

The role requires 3–5 years of QA/QC experience in interiors, strong technical knowledge of finishes, and a proactive approach to preventing defects and driving quality through the project

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of QA/QC experience in interior fit-out, UAE preferred.
• Proven experience on hospitality, residential or commercial interior fit-out projects.
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, ITPs, inspection requests, NCRs, and corrective actions.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project-specific QA/QC plans and procedures.
• Review drawings, specs, submittals, method statements and inspection requirements.
• Conduct site inspections and quality audits across joinery, finishes, ceilings, partitions, floors, and MEP interfaces.
• Prepare, review, and manage ITPs, IRs, material inspections, and checklists.
• Coordinate inspections and obtain approvals at required construction stages.
• Ensure materials and workmanship meet approved specs before installation.
• Monitor subcontractor performance for quality compliance.
• Identify, document and follow up on non-conformances with corrective actions.
• Maintain quality records, inspection reports, test reports, snag lists and handover docs.
• Participate in internal quality audits and pre-handover inspections.
• Coordinate snagging and de-snagging to close defects timely.
• Support teams in achieving quality objectives and reducing rework/waste.
• Ensure compliance with UAE regs and relevant international standards.
• Assist in preparing final quality dossiers and handover packages.

About the Role We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented QA/QC Engineer to join one of our clients who are an established interior fit-out contractor in Dubai.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality assurance and quality control procedures across a diverse portfolio of hospitality, residential, and commercial interior fit-out projects.

Working closely with project managers, site engineers, subcontractors, consultants, and design teams, the QA/QC Engineer will ensure that all works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and relevant UAE regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in interior fit-out, excellent technical knowledge, and a proactive approach to identifying, preventing, and resolving quality issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) plans and procedures.
• Review project specifications, approved drawings, material submittals, method statements, and inspection requirements to ensure compliance with project quality standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits across joinery, architectural finishes, ceilings, partitions, flooring, painting, wall finishes, doors, ironmongery, and associated MEP interfaces.
• Prepare, review, and manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Inspection Requests (IRs), material inspections, and checklists.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, project managers, and site teams to arrange inspections and obtain approvals at the required stages of construction.
• Ensure all materials, samples, mock-ups, and workmanship meet approved specifications and quality requirements before installation or execution.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Identify, document, and follow up on non-conformances, defects, and quality issues, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.
• Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, material approvals, test reports, snagging lists, and project handover documentation.
• Participate in internal quality audits, site quality reviews, mock-up inspections, and pre-handover inspections.
• Coordinate snagging and de-snagging activities to ensure timely closure of defects and delivery of a high-quality finished product.
• Support project teams in achieving quality objectives, reducing rework, minimising material wastage, and maintaining project programmes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable UAE regulations, relevant international standards, client requirements, and project-specific quality procedures.
• Assist in preparing final quality dossiers, as-built documentation, warranties, operation and maintenance manuals, and handover packages.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant QA/QC experience, preferably with an interior fit-out contractor in the UAE.
• Proven experience working on hospitality, residential, and/or commercial interior fit-out projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of interior finishes, joinery, architectural details, materials, and construction methodologies.
• Good understanding of QA/QC procedures, ITPs, method statements, inspection requests, NCRs, and corrective action processes.
• Experience coordinating with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and site teams to resolve quality-related issues.
• Familiarity with UAE construction practices, local authority requirements, and applicable international quality standards.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, material submittals, and project documentation.
• Strong organisational, reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with project documentation systems.
• ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems knowledge or relevant certification would be an advantage.
