Job summary

An engineering consultancy firm in the UAE is seeking a QA/QC Engineer to ensure compliance with quality standards for infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will have over 10 years of experience in engineering and project management and will be responsible for implementing the Quality Management System, conducting inspections, and approving quality documentation. Strong knowledge of UAE standards is essential.

Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented QA/QC Engineer to join our award-winning team based in Al Ain - UAE

The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for the technical evaluation, inspection, testing, and approval of materials, ensuring durability, performance, and sustainability standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.

We envisage success in this role to include;

  • Implement and monitor the project’s Quality Management System (QMS) in line with the consultancy’s standards.
  • Review and approve Contractor’s QA/QC procedures, method statements, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), material submittals, and quality documentation.
  • Conduct routine inspections, tests, and audits at site to verify compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
  • Ensure all materials, workmanship, and construction practices meet required quality benchmarks.
  • Supervise and coordinate QA/QC activities related to infrastructure works including roads, utilities, and civil works.
  • Issue NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and SORs (Site Observation Reports) and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
  • Review shop drawings and ensure they comply with approved designs and standards.
  • Ensure proper documentation of inspections, test results, and quality reports.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Work closely with the Resident Engineer and discipline engineers to address site challenges.
  • Participate in progress meetings and present quality-related updates and findings.
  • Verify material compliance through laboratory test results and maintain complete quality documentation.
  • Monitor third-party testing labs and ensure adherence to project requirements.
  • Prepare periodic quality reports and maintain/update QA/QC logs, inspection records, and QA registers.
  • Maintain well-organized documentation for audits and project handover requirements.
Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that you will bring a minimum of 10 years of engineering and project management experience, partnered with a Bachelor Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.

  • Proven experience in QA/QC roles for infrastructure or land development projects in the UAE/GCC.
  • Prior experience working with engineering consultancies in construction supervision is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE standards and authorities.
  • Familiarity with international standards (ASTM, AASHTO, BS, ISO).
