Job summary

Euro Mechanical & Electrical Contracting Company - LLC in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced QAQC Engineer to own quality assurance and control across oil and gas projects. You will report to the Lead QAQC Engineer and lead a team of QC Inspectors to ensure fabrication, welding, skid packages and handover meet specifications and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of QC Engineer experience on oil & gas projects.
• CSWIP 3.2 certification (minimum) and NDE Level II.
• Painting/coating inspection certification.
• Strong material inspection knowledge and traceability.
• Hands-on skid package and rotating equipment inspection.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review QC procedures, ITPs and work instructions.
• Manage day-to-day QC and inspection across locations per ITPs.
• Lead QC Inspectors and monitor welder performance.
• Qualify welding procedures and monitor WPS compliance.
• Review vendor/sub-contractor welding and NDE documentation.
• Interpret radiography and coordinate with NDT vendors.
• Carry out FAT, SAT, and mechanical completion checks on skid packages.
• Raise NCRs and implement corrective actions.

About the job

We are looking for an experienced QAQC Engineer to take ownership of quality assurance and quality control across our oil and gas projects. Reporting to the Lead QAQC Engineer and leading a team of QC Inspectors you will make sure that everything we deliver from fabrication and welding to skid packages and final handover meets project specifications codes and client expectations.

What you will do

• Develop and review quality control procedures, work instructions and Inspection Test Plans ITPs
• Manage day-to-day QC and inspection activities across all project locations in line with approved ITPs
• Lead and support QC Inspectors and monitor welder performance
• Qualify welding procedures, welders and welding operators and monitor welding activities against WPS requirements
• Review and approve vendor and sub-contractor welding and NDT procedures, ITPs and documentation
• Interpret radiography films and other NDE results and coordinate with NDT sub-vendors
• Carry out surveillance and final inspections FAT SAT and mechanical completion checks on process skid packages including rotating equipment
• Raise and close out NCRs, carry out root cause analysis and verify corrective and preventive actions
• Plan and conduct vendor prequalification and performance audits
• Prepare test packs, dossiers and MRBs and secure client approval
• Liaise with client and third-party quality representatives and track project quality KPIs

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a QC Engineer on oil and gas projects, including skid packages
• CSWIP 3.2 certification (minimum)
• NDE Level II certification
• Painting/coating inspection certification
• Strong knowledge of material inspection, material test certification and traceability
• Hands-on experience in skid package and rotating equipment inspection
• Confident communicator who can work closely with clients, third parties and multiple disciplines on site.
