Role Summary

QA Automation Engineer - Playwright in Abu Dhabi is an opportunity for an experienced automation testing professional with strong expertise in Playwright, TypeScript, JavaScript, API automation, framework design, performance testing, security testing, and AI-driven quality engineering. The engineer will design scalable test frameworks, automate web and API validation, embed quality checks into delivery pipelines, and support continuous delivery in a regulated technology environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop automation frameworks from scratch using Playwright, Rest Assured, Pytest, and other modern automation tools.
Build scalable web automation suites using Playwright with TypeScript or JavaScript for browser-based digital banking applications.
Develop comprehensive API automation suites for REST and GraphQL services with reusable components, schema validation, assertions, and service-level checks.
Implement AI-driven testing capabilities such as self-healing locators, intelligent test generation, predictive defect analytics, and smarter failure analysis.
Conduct performance testing using K6, Gatling, JMeter, or similar tools to identify bottlenecks and recommend practical optimization actions.
Partner with DevSecOps and SRE teams to embed security, resilience, and reliability checks into CI/CD pipelines.
Execute cross-browser and cloud-based automation testing using BrowserStack, LambdaTest, or equivalent execution platforms.
Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
Collaborate with product managers, developers, DevOps engineers, business users, and quality teams to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and quality gates.
Perform API functional validations using Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools for quick checks and defect investigation.
Support security testing awareness by applying OWASP Top10 concepts and identifying common application risk areas.
Work with Dockerized test environments to improve repeatability, portability, and pipeline execution consistency.
Analyze logs, metrics, test failures, and automation reports to identify root causes and support faster issue resolution.
Generate clear dashboards, analytics reports, test summaries, defect trends, and quality insights for technical and business stakeholders.
Maintain automation documentation, framework guidelines, test design standards, reusable libraries, and quality engineering best practices.

Ideal Profile

Minimum 5 years of QA automation experience with a strong focus on web and API automation.
Strong hands‑on experience with Playwright, Rest Assured, or Pytest for automation testing.
Good programming proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or Python.
Proven experience designing and developing automation frameworks from scratch.
Strong understanding of API testing, REST services, GraphQL services, JSON schema validation, service mocking, and reusable test components.
Practical knowledge of Postman or SoapUI for functional API validation and quick troubleshooting.
Exposure to AI-powered or self-healing automation frameworks will be a strong advantage.
Experience with performance testing tools such as K6, Gatling, or JMeter.
Knowledge of application security testing concepts and OWASP Top10 risks.
Familiarity with cloud execution farms such as BrowserStack or LambdaTest.
Strong experience integrating automation suites with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or related platforms.
Experience working with Dockerized environments and automated test execution in delivery pipelines.
Experience in banking, fintech, or digital transformation projects will be preferred.
Familiarity with AI or ML-based test analytics, quality insights, and predictive defect patterns will be beneficial.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to review logs, metrics, test results, and system behavior to identify root causes.
