Job summary

Valuelabs in Dubai seeks a skilled Python Engineer to design robust web frameworks and backend systems to serve data via APIs. You will implement ETL pipelines, integrate with SQL/NoSQL databases, and ensure security and performance in a microservices setup.

The role requires strong Python expertise, experience with Django/Flask/Pyramid, and collaboration with frontend teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions. Knowledge of cloud and container tech is a plus.

Qualifications

• > Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• > Familiarity with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and data warehousing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Be proficient in core Python language concepts and features.
• Experience with web frameworks such as Flask and FastAPI for developing RESTful APIs.
• Skill in asynchronous programming using asyncio and handling concurrent connections and optimizing I/O operations.
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture and ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Knowledge of security best practices for microservices, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and securing APIs using OAuth, JWT, and API gateways.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web frameworks using Python.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic while ensuring security, performance, and maintainability.
• Use web frameworks such as Django, Flask, Pyramid for routing, templating, database integration, authentication, testing, and ORM usage.
• Develop backend systems to serve datasets via APIs and other interfaces.
• Implement data access layers and integrate with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Optimize backend code for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Use ORMs such as SQLAlchemy or Django ORM for database interactions, CRUD operations, querying, and transaction handling.
• Design and maintain database schemas, optimize performance, and ensure efficient data retrieval.
• Implement and manage data storage solutions (relational & NoSQL).
• Design and implement ETL pipelines to process, clean, aggregate, and enrich data for analysis.
• Ensure data integrity, quality, and consistency throughout transformations.
• Debug and test code, using logging, breakpoints, unit tests, and integration tests.
• Use version control systems like Git for code management and collaboration.
• Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues; write clear documentation and adhere to coding standards.
