Job summary

AECOM in Dubai is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor/Cost Controller to oversee commercial aspects from feasibility to construction completion. You will manage budgets, cash flows, and value engineering across mixed-use and infrastructure projects.

Minimum 3 years post-undergraduate experience with a BSc in Quantity Surveying or Engineering is required; MRICS or equivalent accreditation is encouraged and actively pursued. This is a contract role in a dynamic, global firm.

Responsibilities

  • Assist client engagement across the portfolio of projects.
  • Prepare cost options studies for infrastructure assets.
  • Produce cost estimates from sketches and drawings with reasonable assumptions.
  • Ensure projects stay on budget as primary cost controller.
  • Participate in project team briefings on scope and roles.
  • Prepare earned value reports and update cash-flows.
  • Assess progress payments and change requests for clients.
  • Contribute to RFP documentation and procurement management.
  • Tender document preparation, review and reconciliation.

Job description

Job Summary:

To control and monitor all commercial aspects in the delivery of project from feasibility stage through to completion of the construction period. To undertake cost management at both the pre and post contract stages. Ensuring project costs budgets and cash flow compliance all within Company and Client Protocols and Procedures. With a focus on mixed use and infrastructure projects.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Actively assisting client engagement across the portfolio of projects

  • Prepare cost options studies for a variety of infrastructure and public realm assets

  • Contribute to and produce cost estimates from conceptual sketches descriptive narrative and other drawings and specifications able to make reasonable technical assumptions.

  • Accountable for a variety of complex deliverables throughout the lifecycle of multiple projects ensure projects remain on budget as the primary project cost controller.

  • Take part in project team briefings on scope to ensure roles and responsibilities are understood

  • Preparation of earned value reports

  • Prepare review and update cash-flows

  • Responsible for assessing the value of progress payments and change requests for contractors and consultants and making recommendations to clients.

  • Contributions to RFP documentation and management of procurement process

  • Tender document preparation

  • Tender review and reconciliation

  • Participate and evaluate value engineering solutions

  • Working knowledge of industry recognized Contract forms (FIDIC) and standard methods of measurement including CESMM POMI NRM.

  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills


Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 3 years post-undergraduate experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying and/or Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited internationally recognized institution or University.
  • As a minimum actively working towards MRICS or equivalent accreditation.
