Job summary

Waagner Biro Bridge Services in Dubai is seeking a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to join our multidisciplinary team. You will prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, tender documents, and manage project budgets from conception to final accounts.

You will review drawings, evaluate subcontractor quotations, monitor expenditures, and ensure compliance with UAE contracts and industry standards while collaborating with project managers, engineers, and contractors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and tender documents.
  • Review drawings and specifications to identify cost implications.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and cost analysis for construction projects.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost control processes.
  • Evaluate subcontractor quotations and prepare analyses.
  • Prepare and administer contracts, variations, progress claims, and final accounts.
  • Monitor expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
  • Assess and certify subcontractor progress payments.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.
  • Support procurement activities and material cost evaluations.
  • Prepare periodic commercial and financial reports for management.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and tender documentation.
  • Review drawings and specifications to identify project requirements and cost implications.

Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Quantity Surveying
  • Bachelors in Civil Engineering
Experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction projects.
  • Experience in commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, contracts, and cost management.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying and estimation software.
  • Strong understanding of BOQ preparation and tendering processes.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Additional Information
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in building or infrastructure projects in the UAE
  • Knowledge of FIDIC and various UAE Authorities contracts
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Experience using AutoCAD, CostX, PlanSwift, or similar software is a plus.
