Job description

The Project Manager will lead and manage railway safety and inspection activities for key railway operation and maintenance projects across Saudi Arabia. The role requires extensive experience in railway systems focusing on safety compliance, technical inspection, accident investigation, and regulatory oversight, ensuring the highest standards of railway operation safety.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct scheduled supervisory visits and technical inspections at major railway projects (e.g., Haramain High-Speed Railway, Riyadh Metro, Etihad Rail).
  • Lead on-site investigations immediately following railway accidents or incidents.
  • Prepare and submit detailed monitoring and investigation reports within prescribed timelines (usually within two weeks).
  • Review, update, and contribute to railway policies, regulations, and procedural documents as requested by regulatory authorities.
  • Participate in meetings with railway operators and government transport authorities, both remote and in-person.
  • Verify operator compliance with safety certifications, operating licenses, and regulatory requirements during inspections.
  • Provide continuous technical support and respond promptly to queries from the Authority staff between site visits.
  • Ensure all inspection and investigation activities strictly comply with official safety standards and protocols.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 20 years’ experience in railway systems, safety, operation, and maintenance (O&M).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or related technical field.
  • Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience conducting technical investigations of railway accidents or incidents.
  • Hands‑on experience with railway operation, maintenance protocols, and safety standards.
  • Prior experience working on railway projects in Saudi Arabia or GCC countries is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of international best practices for railway safety and inspection.
