Job summary

BeWunder seeks an experienced Freelance Technical Project Manager to lead AVL projects across the UAE and KSA. You will manage full project lifecycles for audio, video and lighting installations, coordinating with rigging, staging and fit-out teams.

This 2‑3 month role requires immediate start and documentation for regulatory work in UAE or Saudi Arabia. You will act as main client liaison, oversee schedules and budgets, and drive successful delivery while maintaining QHSE standards.

Responsibilities

Your mission

We are looking for experienced Freelance Technical Project Managers to support the delivery of our upcoming projects across the UAE and KSA, with a particular focus on Audio, Video and Lighting (AVL) installations for exhibitions and live events.

This is a temporary freelance role for the below-mentioned duration. Candidates must have all required documentation, permits and/or visas in place to legally work in Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates for the duration of the assignment. Start Date: ASAP | Duration: 2-3 months with potential extension.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead assigned technical and AVL event production projects, managing the project lifecycle from initial planning and design through procurement, build, onsite execution and final handover.
• Manage projects involving Audio, Video and Lighting installations, as well as interfaces with rigging, staging, structures, scenic and fit-out elements where applicable.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the assigned project, coordinating requirements, technical solutions, timelines and onsite delivery.
• Oversee the development of the master project schedule and manage its implementation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor project quality, deadlines, budgets and cost control, identifying and addressing potential risks or deviations with oversight from Project Directors.
• Coordinate project teams consisting of technical planners, estimators, coordinators, site managers, suppliers, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
• Establish clear project structures, responsibilities and communication flows to ensure alignment across all parties involved in the delivery.
• Coordinate closely with specialist technical disciplines, including Audio, Video, Lighting and Rigging, to ensure integrated and practical technical solutions.
• Participate in project tendering and pre-production activities, including technical reviews, scope definition, supplier quotations and project planning.
• Tender, negotiate and coordinate supplier and subcontractor packages required for assigned projects.
• Support contract negotiations, commercial evaluations, variations and project-related pricing decisions where required.
• Collaborate with Project Talent/ Crew Management on resource and manpower planning for assigned projects using EasyJob.
• Collaborate with QHSE throughout project delivery and onsite execution to ensure compliance with applicable HSE and QA/QC requirements.
• Conduct project reviews and provide clear project status, progress, cost and risk reporting to relevant stakeholders.
• Manage multiple projects or project workstreams simultaneously where required, from pre-production through to closeout.
• Ensure adherence to our organisation guidelines, project procedures, ethics and compliance requirements throughout the assignment.

Your profile

• Extensive project/ technical management experience within AVL project scopes in the field of events.
• Technical knowledge of Audio, Video and Lighting systems and control.
• Knowledge and experience with current entertainment technologies required for large scale Installations.
• Proven ability to manage large budgets.
• Proven ability to open new client opportunities and expand existing relationships, contributing to the organization’s growth and long-term business development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• English language proficiency is a must.
• Flexible to work based on the requirements of the live event industry.
• Good understanding of technical, business & contractual correlations in all complexity.
• Commercially minded, with ability to balance technical, business, and contractual requirements.
