Job summary

KBR is seeking a Project Manager for Buildings & Roads in Abu Dhabi. Based in our Abu Dhabi Office, you will lead infrastructure projects from tender through execution, coordinating civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation teams to deliver on scope, schedule, and budget.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Tender: review ITT/RFQ, develop technical proposals and execution strategies.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and commercial teams for BOQ/MTO and cost estimates.
• Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies; participate in bid clarifications.
• Post-Tender: lead project kickoff and handover to execution team.
• Manage overall execution: contract compliance, design, procurement, and construction.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams; monitor progress, budget, and resources.
• Manage RFIs, changes, QA/QC, HSE, and client/stakeholder liaison.

Role:

Project Manager – Infrastructure (Buildings & Roads) Projects (Seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in infrastructure projects (Buildings & Roads) and solid technical knowledge across both pre-tender and post-tender stages. The candidate will be responsible for leading projects from tendering through execution, ensuring delivery within scope, time, cost, and quality requirements).

Key Responsibilities

• Pre-Tender Stage
  • Review tender documents (ITT/RFQ), specifications, and drawings in detail.
  • Lead the preparation of technical proposals, methodologies, and execution strategies.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and commercial teams to develop BOQ/MTO and cost estimates.
  • Identify project risks, constraints, and assumptions, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in technical and commercial bid clarifications with clients.
  • Support value engineering and optimization of design and execution approach.
• Post-Tender Stage
  • Lead project kick-off and ensure smooth handover from tendering to execution team.
  • Manage overall project execution, ensuring compliance with contract, specifications, and standards.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, electrical & instrumentation).
  • Monitor project progress, budget, and resources; implement corrective actions when required.
  • Oversee engineering deliverables, procurement activities, and construction progress.
  • Manage RFIs, technical queries, variations, and change orders.
  • Ensure quality assurance, HSE compliance, and proper documentation.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
  • Support commissioning, testing, and project close-out activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).
• PMP or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills

Experience Minimum

• 15+ years as a Project Manager in infrastructure (Building & Roads) projects

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of infrastructure project lifecycle (Buildings, Roads, Utilities, Substations, Pipelines, etc.).
• Expertise in reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and technical submittals.
• Experience in BOQ/MTO preparation and cost estimation.
• Familiarity with contract types (FIDIC preferred) and project controls.
• Ability to manage technical coordination across disciplines.
