Job summary

Expo City Dubai is seeking a Project Manager - Buildings to lead delivery of capital works for large-scale building projects from kick-off to completion. You will manage multiple packages, review IFC designs, coordinate with consultants, contractors and utility providers, and report progress to senior management.

The role requires 6+ years of industry experience, a Civil Engineering degree, and knowledge of Dubai local authority processes and FIDIC contracts.

Qualifications

• 6 years industry experience and have held a similar role for at least 2 years.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related degree.
• Experience in large Community Development projects.
• Discipline specific professional registration preferred (CIBSE, IMechE, MEIT, PMP).
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Good communication skills.
• Proactive approach to identification and resolution of issues.
• Good knowledge of Dubai Local authorities processes.
• Good knowledge of FIDIC forms of contractors.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple buildings related works packages in parallel.
• Review of consultant and contractor IFC designs for scope gaps and improvements.
• Review construction documentation including shop drawings and submittals.
• Track contractor submissions and long lead items.
• Coordinate technical meetings with consultants, contractors and utility providers.
• Review construction progress, schedules, KPI tracking and quality control.
• Manage on-site interfaces with projects/contracts and logistics.
• Review testing and commissioning activities and liaise with the commissioning authority.
• Assist in producing project reports for senior managers and directors.

Job Description:

The Real Estate Developments Division is responsible for the development and delivery of operational for the real estate projects at Expo City Dubai. The team is responsible for implementing the development strategy for Expo City Dubai and works with variety of stakeholders from the master planning phase, through design and construction, to ensure the delivery of large-scale construction projects.

The Project Manager - Buildings purpose is to be responsible for delivery for all aspects of capital works building projects delivery scope of works from contract kick off to project completion.

The main responsibilities for this role include:

• Ability to manage multiple buildings related works packages in parallel.
• Have excellent technical knowledge of all facets of building construction, including mid, high rise and low rise developments
• Have excellent knowledge of authorities requirements and processes for approvals
• Review of consultant and contractor IFC designs for any scope gaps, technical issues or opportunities for improvement, including VE
• Review of pre-construction documentation provided by the contractor including shop drawings, material/ equipment submittals and samples, quality plans and method statements.
• Tracking of contractor submissions, technical, procurement, long lead items etc
• Assist in technical coordination meetings with consultants, contractors and utility providers.
• Review of construction progress including schedules, KPI’s tracking and quality control/ auditing
• Manage interfaces on site with our projects/contracts and logistics requirements
• Review of all testing and commissioning activities and liaison with the programme Commissioning Authority.
• Support in preparing the close out strategy and review of documentation such as record drawings and O&M manuals provided by the contractor .
• Assist commercial team in valuation of works and change control.
• Assist in production of project reports.
• Provide reports to Senior Managers and Directors as necessary

Knowledge, Qualifications and Skills required:

Essential:
