Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to lead and coordinate complex rail projects from Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role covers administrative to strategic tasks, with an emphasis on schedule management, cost control, and stakeholder coordination.

Based in Abu Dhabi, the successful candidate will oversee international teams and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and contractual requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or engineering background required.
• 5–8 years of Project Management experience.
• GCC Railway experience preferable.
• Based in UAE preferable.
• Excellent client-facing and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Project Management in coordinating an international team and project scope.
• Monitor project schedule, critical path, dependencies and milestones per contract.
• Lead project meetings, track actions, and promote collaboration.
• Oversee subcontractors' progress, payments and performance.
• Ensure delivery complies with Quality, HSE and contract conditions.
• Contribute to achievement of financial targets: costs, revenues, invoicing, cash flow.
• Coordinate with Contracts for claims and disputes.
• Prepare risk analyses and monthly/quarterly project reviews.
• Coordinate with stakeholders including Client and Subcontractors.

Job Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Project Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Abu Dhabi - UAE.

Who We Are

Hitachi Rail is an international leader with a global presence in signaling and the implementation of integrated transport systems for freight and passenger railways, as well as mass transit systems. We design, manufacture and implement signaling systems for the management and control of freight and passenger traffic on mainline railways as well as metros.

Accountabilities

• Support the Senior Project Management in the coordination of an international team allocating responsibilities and deliverables with respect to Company processes and Project scope of work
• Supervise the development and monitoring of the Project schedule, considering critical path activities, dependencies and milestones, in compliance with contract requirements and Project priorities
• Lead the Project Team with regular project meetings, tracking action items, facilitating information flow and promoting effective collaboration
• Monitor the subcontractors' progress, payments and performances
• Ensure the delivery of the Project in compliance with Quality standards and Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations in accordance with contract conditions
• Play an active role in the achievement of the Project financial targets in terms of costs, revenues, invoicing and cash-flow
• Work with Contracts team in the preparation of contract claims and disputes in accordance to contract provisions
• Prepare and update regularly the Project Risk Analysis, the Monthly and Quarterly Project reviews in accordance with the Company process
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including Client and Subcontractors and participate to regular progress meetings

Skills

• 5-8 years of Project Management experience
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• GCC Railway experience is preferable
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Based in UAE is preferable
• PMP Project Management certificate holder is preferable
• Strong analytical, critical, and logical thinking skills

Education

• Bachelor's Degree

Languages

• English Proficiency
• Arabic is a plus
