Job Description

The opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Project Lead Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will coordinate project engineering activities, prepare and review project engineering deliverables, monitor contractual scope variations & change orders, initiate technical discussions, liaise with all stakeholders on technical matters, and monitor engineering efforts for projects and tenders.

How you'll make an impact

• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, substation projects, and tenders.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for project and tender progress.
• Review equipment specifications and BOQ for supplier inquiries, technical offers, and monitor supplier deliverables.
• Follow engineering processes, change management, risk and opportunities management during project execution and tendering.
• Coordinate with customers/consultants for document approvals as per schedule.
• Coordinate with site teams during installation, testing, commissioning, and punch point closure.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
• Uphold Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity.

Your background

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• Experience in design & engineering of utility substation projects in the Middle East, with a preference for those with a lead role and exposure to various voltage levels and GIS/AIS projects.
• Expertise in primary or secondary domain engineering related to substations.
• Experience with GIS and AIS substation layouts, protection relay panels, SCADA/RTU, auxiliary systems, and coordination with civil and MEP disciplines.
• Minimum 15 years of work experience, including at least 5 years in a lead role.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
