Job summary

Confidential Company is seeking a Project Engineer with hands-on experience in electrical infrastructure projects, focusing on street lighting for RTA. You will design, implement, and coordinate across project teams, ensuring accurate estimations, schedules, and on-site execution.

The role requires collaboration with project managers, planning engineers, and consultants, plus experience with shop drawings, BoM preparation, and approvals from DEWA or RTA authorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (B. Tech./BE) is required.
• Experience in executing electrical works for infrastructure projects, especially lighting.
• Familiarity with RTA/ RLTS/ RSFM approvals is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and coordinate street lighting and electrical infrastructure projects.
• Develop layouts, SLDs and cable/load schedules; review shop drawings for accuracy.
• Prepare BoM from shop drawings and site requirements; submit material submittals for approval.
• Coordinate with main contractors, consultants, RTA and authorities to secure approvals.
• Supervise electrical installation, testing and commissioning on-site; plan manpower and resources.
• Provide daily reports and ensure timely, cost-effective project completion.

Job description

We are an EPC Engineering & Contracting company, looking for a skilled Project Engineer having hands-on experience in electrical infrastructure projects.

1. This role will focus on the design, implementation, and coordination of street lighting and other infrastructure projects for RTA,

2. Working closely with project managers, planning engineers, and consultants.

3. The ideal candidate should have expertise in providing accurate cost estimations, project timelines, and managing the execution of electrical works, particularly in the RTA domain.

4. Develop street lighting layouts, cross-sections, single-line diagrams (SLD), and cable/load schedules, collaborating with draughtsmen. Review shop drawings for accuracy before submission for approval.

5. Prepare Bill of Materials (BoM) based on shop drawings and site-specific requirements.

6. Compile and submit material submittals for approval.

7. Experience in applying for and obtaining NOC/LV Design approvals from DEWA related to infrastructure works.

8. Liaise with main contractors, consultants, RTA, and other authorities to ensure timely approvals.

9. Coordinate material requisitions and service requests with suppliers through SAP, ensuring timely delivery.

10. Collaborate with consultants and RTA for material and work inspections.

11. Supervise electrical installation, testing, and commissioning activities on-site.

12. Plan manpower, equipment, and tools for installation, testing, and commissioning in advance.

13. Provide daily reports and coordination with the Project Manager/Site Manager.

14. Ensure cost-effective and timely completion of all site activities.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (B. Tech. / BE)

• 5-12 years of experience in executing electrical works for RTA infrastructure projects (e.g., street lighting, tunnel lighting, under-bridge lighting, drainage pumping stations, irrigation pumping stations).

• Prior approval by RTA-RLTS/RSFM for project work is preferred.

• Knowledge of lighting calculations, shop drawings, and electrical works related to underpass lighting, under-bridge lighting, CCTV systems, and traffic signal installation.

• Experience with electromechanical works in drainage pumping stations. Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.
