Job summary

Asico in Dubai is seeking a Project Engineer - Civil to provide day-to-day technical and site-level support across the project portfolio, ensuring design intent, contract requirements, and quality standards are translated into execution on the ground.

The role acts as the technical backbone, supporting Head of Projects and Project Managers in monitoring contractor performance, verifying submittals, and safeguarding the client's interests throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years in real estate development or engineering consultancy.
• Minimum 5 years in the UAE.
• Experience on consultant or developer side required; contractor-only background not accepted.
• Proficient in Primavera P6 and AutoCAD; familiar with UAE codes and authorities.
• PMP certification is a plus; Arabic and English proficiency; UAE driving license.

Responsibilities

• Review contractor shop drawings, submittals, method statements for compliance.
• Monitor site progress, perform regular inspections, ensure quality standards.
• Support QA/QC by addressing non-conformities and coordinating with contractors.
• Assist in contract administration, IPCs, variations, and technical claims.
• Prepare progress reports, site diaries, and client meeting materials.
• Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, and authorities; ensure safety compliance.
• Promote site safety with HSE and manage NOC-related requirements.

Job description

Asico is hiring for a Project Engineer - Civil in its Dubai Offices , to provide day-to-day technical and site-level support across the project portfolio, ensuring that design intent, contract requirements, and quality standards are translated into accurate execution on the ground. The Project Engineer acts as the technical backbone of the project team, supporting the Head of Projects and Project Managers in monitoring contractor performance, verifying technical submittals, and safeguarding the client's interests throughout the project lifecycle.

This Position reports to the Head Of Projects .

• Technical Review & Documentation
• Review and verify contractor shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for compliance with design intent, specifications, and applicable codes
• Maintain accurate technical records, drawing registers, and submittal logs to support traceability and audit readiness
• Coordinate RFIs (Requests for Information) between design consultants and site teams, ensuring timely resolution
• Site Monitoring & Quality Control
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify that construction activities conform to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards
• Support the QA/QC function by identifying non-conformities early and following up on corrective actions with contractors
• Monitor contractor progress against the master schedule and flag deviations to the Head of Projects
• Contract Administration Support
• Assist in reviewing interim payment certificates (IPCs), variation orders, and technical claims before escalation
• Support the preparation and tracking of contractual correspondence, notices, and instructions issued under the applicable FIDIC form of contract
• Help maintain the project risk register by flagging technical and schedule-related risks as they arise
• Coordination & Reporting
• Liaise with design consultants, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve day-to-day technical and coordination issues
• Prepare periodic progress reports, inspection reports, and site diaries for internal and client review
• Support the Head of Projects in preparing materials for client and authority meetings
• HSE & Compliance
• Promote and enforce site safety practices in coordination with the HSE function
• Support permitting, inspection, and NOC-related site requirements with relevant Dubai authorities

Requirements

• 8 to 12 years of experience in real estate development or Engineering Consultants, with a minimum of 5 years in the UAE
• Experience on the consultant or developer side is essential. Main contractor experience is a good addition, but candidates whose experience is limited to contractor-side roles only will not qualify
• Working knowledge of Primavera (P6) and AutoCAD is essential
• Working knowledge of FIDIC Conditions of Contract, with practical exposure to submittals, RFIs, and site-level contract administration
• Familiarity with UAE construction codes and authority approval processes (Dubai Municipality, DDA, Civil Defence, DEWA)
• Detail-oriented, with strong site presence and the ability to coordinate across design, contractor, and client teams
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a Achitecture
• PMP certification is an added value
• Arabic speaker, with strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Valid UAE driving license
