Job summary

A leading retail and hospitality group in the UAE seeks a Project Manager to oversee fit-out projects. The ideal candidate will manage project execution, coordinate approvals, and ensure compliance with design standards. Job description
Responsibilities
  • Reporting to Project Manager, manage project execution from site survey, brand concept design through construction and handover.
  • Coordinate/ liaise with mall team/LL to get approvals for fitout process and execution, keeping the design standards of Home centre intact.
  • Review architectural plans, drawings, and blueprints to identify potential issues or discrepancies.
  • liaise with contractor to prepare material submittals to mall team/ LL.
  • Support the design team/ QS team with technical inputs, unit specifications and design information required for design intent drawings, capex inputs and tender preparation.
  • Review and manage technical documentation including shop drawings, method statements, RFIs, and variation requests.
  • Coordinate with designers and contractors to ensure construction activities are in line with approved drawings, specifications, and project schedule.
  • Monitor project progress against weekly targets and highlight deviations from the approved program, advising the Project Manager of potential delays and corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and quality of works, ensuring compliance with design and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor project aspects including time, quality, safety, and sustainability, while eliminating delays.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of project correspondence, approvals, project status update and progress reports.
  • Prepare project control documentation including:
    • Daily and weekly field reports
    • Material Inspection Requests (MIR) and Work Inspection Requests (WIR)
    • Production and material tracking logs
  • Coordinate, attend and document progress and regular coordination meetings with concept team and all stakeholders to understand their specific requirements and facilitate implementation on-site.
  • Support quantity and invoice verification and certification of completed works.
  • Verify and confirm contractor work completion for invoicing and payment processing.
  • Coordinate with QS/ Finance for the release of payments to contractors, consultants, and vendors, ensuring technical verification of claims and work completion.
  • Interact daily with consultants and contractors to ensure project requirements are met and timelines are adhered to.
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Assist in developing strategies for successful project delivery, focusing on design, construction, and maintenance.
  • Identification and evaluation of new products / solutions, vendors, material to be used and finalization and cost effectiveness.
Qualifications

Diploma/ bachelor's degree in architecture/ civil engineering; Project Management Certification preferred.

Graduate with 5-7 years of extensive fit-out site experience, preferably on the consultant/client side. Experience in coordinating with consultants, contractors, and cross-functional internal teams including finance and merchandisers. Ability to manage multiple tasks.
