Job summary

Leading Civil & Infrastructure Contractor in Abu Dhabi seeks a Project Director – Highways & Infrastructure to lead a major AED 1.2 billion highway project with a 15-month fast-track programme. The role combines site and office leadership for delivery, safety and quality while managing multi-disciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has a BSc in Civil Engineering with substantial UAE-based experience delivering large-scale roads and highways and proven senior leadership in contractor environments.

Qualifications

• Education: BSc in Civil Engineering.
• Project Experience: Proven experience delivering large-scale Roads & Highway projects valued at AED 1 billion or above.
• UAE Experience: Strong previous experience delivering major civil and infrastructure projects within the UAE.
• Contractor Background: Must have recent contractor-side experience in senior project leadership positions; consultancy-only backgrounds will not be considered.
• Location: UAE-based candidates are preferred, although candidates elsewhere in the GCC will be considered where they have strong previous UAE experience.

• Project Leadership: Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project through to completion and handover.
• Team Management: Lead and coordinate the project management, engineering, commercial and construction teams.
• Programme & Delivery: Drive the fast-track construction programme, ensuring key milestones and project objectives are achieved.
• Commercial Oversight: Maintain senior-level oversight of project costs, contractual matters, risk and overall commercial performance.
• Client & Stakeholder Management: Act as the senior project representative, managing relationships with the client and key project stakeholders.

About the Company:Our client is the Civil & Infrastructure division of one of the largest contractors operating across the UAE, delivering major roads and infrastructure projects across the region. They are looking to appoint an experienced Project Director to lead a major fast-track highway project in Abu Dhabi.
