Job summary

Air Q Limited seeks an experienced Production Testing Engineer to join the AIT team in Abu Dhabi. You will lead integration checkout, functional and final acceptance testing, ensuring that each unit meets defined quality and performance standards before handover.

Job description

Air Q Limited is looking for an experienced Production Testing Engineer to join our Assembly Integration & Testing (AIT) team in Abu Dhabi.

The Production Testing Engineer will be responsible for the integration checkout functional testing and final acceptance testing of assembled units ensuring that each unit meets defined technical quality and performance requirements before handover.

This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong experience in electro-mechanical systems test equipment instrumentation troubleshooting and cross-functional collaboration with R&D Quality and Production teams.

Key ResponsibilitiesIntegration & System Testing

• Perform integration checkout of assembled units and systems.
• Verify power systems electronics communications interfaces navigation systems sensors and other subsystem interfaces.
• Identify and troubleshoot integration issues during production testing.
• Ensure all required checks are completed before units proceed to final acceptance.

Functional & Acceptance Testing

• Develop document and execute functional and final acceptance test procedures.
• Define appropriate test methods and acceptance criteria in coordination with Engineering and Quality teams.
• Conduct final functional testing and verify compliance with technical requirements.
• Maintain accurate test records results and traceability for each tested unit.

Test Equipment & Test Rig Development

• Design develop and build test rigs fixtures and test setups for new products and configurations.
• Configure and operate instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
• Ensure test equipment and rigs are functional calibrated and ready for production use.
• Troubleshoot test equipment issues and coordinate repair maintenance and calibration activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with R&D and Engineering teams to establish and validate testing and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate with Quality to ensure testing aligns with applicable quality requirements.
• Support production teams in resolving testing and integration-related issues.
• Provide regular updates on testing progress system readiness and outstanding issues to the Head of Testing.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes procedures and production workflows.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Mechatronics Aerospace Engineering Electronics Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in integration and testing test engineering electro-mechanical systems or a similar role.
• Experience in aerospace UAV aviation defense or advanced manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
• Experience with hands-on testing troubleshooting instrumentation and test equipment.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent process-improvement certification is an advantage.

Technical Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical and electronic subsystem integration.
• Experience testing power systems communication interfaces navigation systems and sensors.
• Ability to design and build test rigs fixtures and test setups from scratch.
• Experience with test instrumentation and data acquisition systems.

Working Conditions

• Primary Location: Air Q Limited Masdar City Abu Dhabi UAE.
• The role may require work at other company-designated sites offices airports or operational locations depending on business requirements.
• Working hours will follow company policy and may vary according to production testing and operational requirements.
