Job summary

Ingenia Polymers Chemical Industries LLC in Abu Dhabi seeks a production operator to manage assigned process(es) from start-up to shutdown, ensure product quality, and troubleshoot issues. You will operate lines with twin screw extruders, compaction, and packaging equipment, monitor through computer systems, and follow safety rules and PPE requirements.

The role requires climbing ladders to 50 ft silos, lifting 55 lb bags, moving 50 kg drums, and passing a pre-employment physical in a hot, dusty

Qualifications

  • Must be able to follow established safety procedures and wear necessary PPE.
  • Experience operating plastics processing lines or similar manufacturing processes is desirable.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic process issues and report findings to supervisor.

  • Responsible for all aspects of operation of assigned process(es) including start-up, shutdown, and changeovers.
  • Operate plastic processing equipment including extruders, packaging lines, and related auxiliaries.
  • Follow established procedures and rules for facilitating production.
  • Operate lines via computer systems to monitor and control production and feed materials.
  • Perform quality testing on samples and raw materials; segregate non-conforming production.
  • Learn and apply proper safety rules and PPE; adhere to facial hair policy where required.
  • Perform general labour and housekeeping duties.

Job description

  1. Responsible for all aspects of the operation of their assigned process(es) including start-up, shutdown, product changeover, process problem troubleshooting, and meeting production quality requirements.
  2. Process units include twin screw compounding extruders, compaction, and pulverizing equipment, and auxiliaries such as solids transferring, feeding, and mixing equipment.
  3. Follow established procedures and rules for facilitating production.
  4. Facilitate all aspects of process development for new and existing products from feasibility testing to process automation in cooperation with the process engineering and production teams.
  5. Operate plastic processing equipment including extruders, grinders, packaging lines, mixers, and various auxiliary equipment as well as drive a forklift throughout the shift.
  6. Perform quality testing in the laboratory of various samples from various plastics processing equipment and perform tests on raw and finished materials.
  7. Report findings to their supervisor and take appropriate action to segregate production that fails to meet specifications.
  8. Perform other general labour and housekeeping duties.
  9. Operate the sophisticated plastic production lines of the plant which include twin screw extruders, material handling, feeding systems, water circulation systems, etc.
  10. Use computer systems to monitor and control the operation of the lines.
  11. Prepare raw material batches and feed the production lines.
  12. Learn and apply the proper safety rules and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  13. Initial troubleshooting of the problems during production and directly solving the simpler ones.
  14. Follow safety rules, and always wear required personal protection equipment including hardhat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, and a respirator.
  15. Follow Facial Hair Policy. The respirator requires a tight seal around the face so this area must be clean-shaven to fall in line with safety requirements. If you have facial hair, you must be willing to shave around the applicable areas to increase a tight seal for the respirator.
Desired Candidate Profile

Must be able to climb ladders to the top of 50 ft. silos.

Ability to stack 55 lb. bags on pallets at a rate of up to 80 per hour.

Ability to move 50-kilogram drums.

Ability to work in a hot and occasionally dusty environment. (Respirator is required in some

areas of the facility)

Have no restrictions that would limit the ability to work with heavy or rotating equipment or

operate forklifts and floor-sweeping vehicles.

Ability to work in a non-smoking, drug and alcohol-free facility.

Ability to pass pre-employment physical.
