Job summary

McDermott International, Ltd in Dubai seeks a Production Engineer to apply conceptual production knowledge under guided direction, solving straightforward problems and learning company processes and customers.

You will analyze solutions using standard procedures, understand critical business drivers, and support fabrication planning, quality control, and coordination with shop and site teams. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• 3+ years of oil and gas experience with major contractor or consultant.
• Familiar with API RP2A, AISC, and AWS.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to production processes and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Review project scope of work, schedules, and specifications; understand requirements and deliverables.
• Prepare Scope of Work and Task Listing.
• Review fabrication schedule and suggest corrections to planning team.
• Review drawings for constructability and identify special items/subcontract requirements.
• Review monthly material reports; raise problems with material delivery.
• Review material requisitions prior to order; check grade and plate sizing.
• Initiate site queries to utilize available material (substitutions).
• Provide field guidance and ensure compliance with Company specification.
• Attend production meetings and report concerns.
• Monitor scope changes and Production revision orders.
• Report weekly fabrication progress and monitor production man-hours and productivity.
• Review four weeks look ahead plans and identify constraints (material/drawings).
• Coordinate with construction engineer to ensure timely procedures and understanding of changes.
• Coordinate any sub-contract scope; review as-built drawings.
• Coordinate materials movements within the yard; with shop/erection floor planning.
