The Production Engineer applies their conceptual knowledge of Production and, with moderate guidance from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving straightforward Production problems. They analyze solutions using standard procedures and develop knowledge of company processes and customer requirements.
Responsibilities, Key Tasks, and Responsibilities
- Review project scope of work, schedules, and specifications to understand requirements and deliverables.
- Prepare Scope of Work and Task Listing.
- Review fabrication schedules and suggest corrections to the planning team.
- Review drawings for constructability and identify special items or subcontract requirements.
- Review monthly material reports and raise issues related to material delivery.
- Check material requisitions prior to ordering and verify grade plate sizing assumptions.
- Initiate site queries to utilize available material substitutions.
- Provide field guidance and ensure compliance with company specifications.
- Attend production meetings and report concerns.
- Monitor scope changes and revision orders.
- Report weekly fabrication progress, monitor man-hours and productivity.
- Review four-week look-ahead plans to identify constraints.
- Coordinate with construction engineers to ensure timely procedure issuance and understanding of changes.
- Coordinate subcontract scope and review as-built drawings.
- Manage materials movement within the yard.
- Coordinate with shop erection planning to ensure adherence to the project plan.
- Approve fabrication drawings and review Work Pack deliverables according to the Work Pack Index.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience in oil and gas with a major contractor or consultant.
- Familiarity with API RP2A, AISC, and AWS standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to production processes and facilities.
