Job description
Role Overview

The Product Manager – Alternatives curates and manages the alternatives shelf across structured products, private equity, private credit, real estate, hedge funds, co-investments, and secondaries. This role provides deep product expertise in alternatives and structured products, collaborating closely with RMs and clients to design bespoke investment solutions that strengthen the bank’s client value proposition. The role is critical in responding to client demand for alternative investments, positioning EIB as a differentiator in proposition and addressing a key market gap. By acting as a revenue enhancer, the Product Manager enables higher-margin product penetration, while serving as a client engagement partner to position complex opportunities alongside RMs and IAs (investment advisors) for clients. The role also acts as a curator of access, building and managing partnerships to deliver best-in-class opportunities and ensuring the right solutions are consistently available.

To succeed, the Product Specialist must demonstrate deep analytical rigor, due-diligence discipline, relationship management with platforms, and strong communication skills that translate complex alternatives into client-ready narratives. The role requires a governance mindset with meticulous documentation, pipeline discipline, and execution rigor, while maintaining a commercial orientation to support pipeline management, investment monitoring, and client adoption.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curate and manage the alternatives shelf across structured products, private equity, credit, real estate, hedge funds, co-investments, and secondaries
  • Lead investment and customer due diligence, suitability, producing clear memos, approvals, and ongoing monitoring
  • Manage allocations and subscriptions in consultation with business and client requirements including KYC coordination & documentation.
  • Enable distribution with RMs through training, suitability gating, and provision of client materials
  • Own GP and platform relationships; negotiate terms, monitor capacity, and elevate risks to governance forums
  • Act as a client engagement partner, positioning complex opportunities with HNW clients and reinforcing credibility
  • Build partnerships to ensure consistent availability of best-in–class alternative solutions
Qualifications & Experience
  • 7–10 years in alternatives investment/Structured products or product management with HNWI exposure
  • Proven track record in evaluating managers and strategies, with strong grasp of structures, fee stacks, liquidity, and tax considerations
  • Strong understanding of suitability, product governance, and marketing rules
  • Advanced credentials preferred: CAIA or CFA; familiarity with legal docs, side letters, and fund agreements
  • Proficiency in analytics and data tools (Excel, performance systems, CRM)
