Qualifications

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Manager in Abu Dhabi. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in building and leading the procurement function from the ground up, developing robust procurement strategies, policies, and governance frameworks that support the organisation's long-term objectives. Working closely with senior leadership, you will ensure procurement activities are delivered efficiently, transparently, and in line with government regulations and best practice, while driving value for money and building strong supplier partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the organisation's end-to-end procurement function.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
• Manage the sourcing, tendering, evaluation, negotiation, and contract award processes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and key stakeholders.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with UAE government regulations, internal policies, and ethical procurement standards.
• Negotiate commercial terms to achieve best value while maintaining quality and service standards.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage contract administration, renewals, and supplier performance reviews.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, operational efficiencies, and process improvements.
• Prepare procurement reports, spend analysis, and management information for senior leadership.
• Work collaboratively with internal departments to understand business requirements and support strategic procurement planning.
• Build and develop the procurement function as the organisation continues to grow.

Requirements

• UAE National with Abu Dhabi Family Book – This position is exclusively available to Emirati candidates.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related discipline.
• A professional procurement qualification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or an equivalent certification is highly advantageous.
• Proven experience in a Procurement Manager or Senior Procurement role with broad exposure across strategic sourcing, contract management, supplier management, and procurement operations.
• Strong understanding of procurement governance, tendering processes, commercial negotiations, and contract management.
• Experience developing procurement policies and implementing best practice procurement frameworks.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and commercial acumen.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement or ERP systems.
• Previous experience within the government, semi-government, or a highly regulated environment would be advantageous.
