Job description

Own category strategy, sourcing and procurement execution for kitchen and other food preparation equipment, stainless-steel fabrication, bought-out items, spare parts, maintenance services and oil-filtration solutions across multiple regional markets. Deliver competitive total cost of ownership, supply continuity, supplier performance and measurable savings while maintaining approved technical, food-safety and operating requirements. Retain equipment OEM and commercial ownership while partnering with the relevant Logistics function on direct-buying fulfilment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Category Strategy and Demand Alignment
  • Develop annual category strategies, sourcing plans and a prioritized savings pipeline using spend, demand, market intelligence and supplier-capability analysis.
  • Align new openings, remodels, replacements and maintenance needs with Operations, Maintenance, Development and the centralized planning portfolio.
  • Define supply-base strategies, standardization and localization opportunities, and business-continuity options for critical equipment and spares.
2. Strategic Sourcing and Commercial Negotiation
  • Lead supplier/OEM identification, qualification, tenders, bid normalization and award recommendations for the full equipment and services portfolio.
  • Coordinate technical evaluations with authorized stakeholders and challenge cost, scope gaps, exclusions and lifecycle implications without assuming ownership of design or technical acceptance.
  • Negotiate pricing, warranties, lead times, service coverage, spare-parts availability, Incoterms and payment terms and establish approved commercial agreements with Legal and Finance support.
3. Equipment Fabrication and Procurement Execution
  • Manage procurement delivery against approved equipment schedules, fabrication drawings, BOQs and specifications, ensuring suppliers understand scope and deadlines.
  • Coordinate supplier acknowledgement, fabrication progress, inspection readiness, installation and commissioning interfaces and resolve commercial or supplier-performance issues.
  • Provide sourcing outcomes to authorized PR/PO teams and coordinate supplier fulfilment for local/distributor purchases; hand direct-buying fulfilment to Logistics under a documented responsibility split.
4. Maintenance Services, Spares and Oil Filtration
  • Source and negotiate maintenance-service agreements, preventive-maintenance coverage, repair rate cards, spares and oil-filtration solutions with clear commercial terms and service levels.
  • Work with Maintenance and Operations to define response times, uptime requirements, critical-spares availability and objective service-performance measures.
  • Monitor provider commercial performance and recurring warranty/service issues, enforce contractual remedies and drive cost and reliability improvements; Maintenance retains technical service acceptance.
5. Supplier, OEM and Contract Performance
  • Own OEM and category supplier relationships, business reviews, performance scorecards and corrective-action plans for quality, cost, service and continuity.
  • Resolve contractual issues, warranty disputes, spare-parts obsolescence and supplier underperformance in coordination with technical stakeholders and Logistics.
  • Maintain commercial agreements, renewal calendars, supplier capacity intelligence and risk mitigations across the regional portfolio.
6. Savings, Innovation and Lifecycle Value
  • Lead value engineering, specification alternatives, localization and equipment innovation opportunities with technical and brand stakeholders.
  • Assess acquisition, energy, consumables, maintenance, service and replacement costs to support total-cost-of-ownership decisions.
  • Track and validate implemented savings with Finance, distinguish savings from cost avoidance and report delivery against approved baselines.
7. Team Governance and Logistics Interface
  • Manage designated procurement team member(s) and agree shared priorities with relevant Logistics stakeholders for any dotted-line support.
  • Retain equipment strategy, OEM selection, sourcing agreements and commercial issue ownership; Logistics owns direct-buying planning and fulfilment under those agreements.
  • Report category performance, sourcing progress, savings, supplier risks and unresolved decisions to relevant senior stakeholders.
Leadership
  • Set the category workplan, savings priorities and supplier-performance expectations and remain accountable for delivery across markets.
  • Lead negotiations and cross-functional decisions using transparent analysis, commercial judgment and documented recommendations.
  • Manage designated procurement team member(s) through clear objectives, workload allocation, coaching and performance reviews.
  • Uphold procurement ethics, confidentiality, segregation of duties and evidence-based decision making.
Policies and Procedures
  • Contribute to category-specific sourcing procedures, evaluation criteria, supplier governance and practical controls; implement approved Procurement Policy and delegation of authority requirements.
  • Maintain auditable sourcing records and monitor team compliance without taking over PR/PO ownership or operational approvals assigned to other functions.
  • Balancing multi-brand equipment requirements, food factory needs and differing market operating conditions with standardization and cost competitiveness.
  • Preventing equipment or critical-spares shortages while managing long lead times, replacement cycles and OEM constraints.
  • Maintaining clear equipment commercial ownership while direct-buying fulfilment is managed by Logistics.
  • Reducing lifecycle cost without compromising reliability, food safety, maintainability or brand requirements.
  • Managing shared team capacity and concurrent sourcing, service and project priorities.
Frameworks, Boundaries and Decision making authority
  • Lead category sourcing, negotiations and supplier-performance decisions within approved Procurement Policy and delegation of authority; submit awards and contractual exceptions for authorized approval.
  • PR creation, PO issuance and associated transaction approvals remain with authorized teams under segregation of duties. This role supplies sourcing outcomes and planning inputs and coordinates follow-up; it does not create PRs or issue POs.
  • Technical requirements, designs, acceptance and maintenance execution remain with authorized technical/operating stakeholders.
  • Manage assigned team member(s) and agree dotted-line tasks and capacity with Logistics, escalating conflicting priorities to relevant senior stakeholders.
Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • CIPS or equivalent procurement certification is preferred; relevant equipment or project-management training is advantageous.
Experience
  • 8–10 years of relevant procurement experience, with substantial ownership of commercial kitchen/commercial equipment, SS fabrication or comparable technical equipment categories.
  • Proven delivery of category strategies, OEM negotiations, framework agreements and measurable lifecycle or procurement savings.
  • Experience sourcing spares and maintenance services and managing warranty, service-level and supplier-performance issues.
  • Regional, multi-site QSR, food production, hospitality or retail exposure and experience leading staff or cross-functional sourcing teams.
Job Specific Skills
  • Equipment and fabrication sourcing; technical-commercial bid evaluation and scope normalization.
  • Contract negotiation, warranty/service terms, spares economics and supplier governance.
  • Total-cost-of-ownership modelling, spend analysis and savings validation.
  • Commercial understanding of equipment drawings, BOQs and service scopes; coordination with technical owners.
  • Excel, presentations and ERP-based procurement reporting; clear executive communication.
  • Category strategy and sourcing
  • Equipment and services commercial management
  • OEM and supplier-performance governance
  • Lifecycle costing and value engineering
  • Procurement execution and risk management
  • Ownership and results orientation
  • Integrity and impartiality
  • Decision discipline and timely escalation
Performance Measures
  • Validated savings and lifecycle cost improvements
  • Supplier delivery, quality and service performance
  • Warranty/spares resolution and supply continuity
  • Contract coverage, governance and team delivery
