Job summary

Dhafir Development & Contracting LLC in the UAE seeks a detail-oriented Procurement Engineer / Sr. Procurement Engineer with a civil construction background to join our team.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 7–10 years of procurement experience, including at least 3 years in a contracting company in the UAE. You will evaluate quotations, negotiate prices, prepare LOIs and subcontract agreements, and monitor subcontractor variations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• 7–10 years procurement experience, with at least 3 years as Procurement Engineer in a contracting company (UAE preferred).
• Ability to evaluate subcontractor quotations, negotiate prices, and select best offer.
• Experience in preparing LOI, subcontract agreements, and related documents.
• Follow up subcontractor variations and analyze cost effects of alternatives.
• Strong command of the English language.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and finalize Supplier/ Sub Contractor procurement for the company projects.
• Direct and manage procurement process life cycle from inception to end.
• Review performance of approved sub-contractors/suppliers and make status recommendations.
• Check LOI drafts for compliance with contract documents or identify alternatives.
• Study contract documents (specifications, drawings and bill of quantities) to ensure that the correct quantities of items have been identified for procurement.
• Make sure LOIs are duly approved by Subcontractor / Supplier.

• Minimum 7-10 years relevant procurement experience of which at least 3 years as Procurement Engineer in Procurement Department of a contracting company, preferably in the UAE.
• Ability to evaluate subcontractor's quotations, negotiate prices and recommend the best offer matching the requirement, specifications etc.
• Experience in preparing comparison sheets, letters of intent, subcontract agreements, etc.
• Strong in follow up subcontractors' variations and analyse the cost effects for alternative proposals.
• Good command of the English language
