Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction and a strong understanding of procurement processes and procedures. The Procurement Engineer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services for our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and source reliable suppliers for construction materials, equipment, and services
• Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best possible prices and terms
• Prepare and issue purchase orders for approved materials and services
• Monitor and track the delivery of materials and services to ensure timely arrival to project sites
• Review and analyze supplier performance to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods and services
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to identify procurement needs and develop procurement plans
• Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities and documentation
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations
• Continuously seek opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in procurement operations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the construction industry (building, road and infrastructure)
• Strong understanding of procurement processes and procedures
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement software
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of local and international procurement laws and regulations
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal
• Arabic speaking is a plus
• UAE driving license is preferred
