Job summary

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of procurement experience in manufacturing, strong negotiation skills, and a Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Purchasing. Job description
JOB CONTENT

Responsible for sourcing, cost negotiations, credit term and buying of raw materials, consumable items, spare parts, etc. and expediting orders to meet the scheduled delivery for Precision in a cost effective manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in identifying procurement needs from stakeholders and compiling material specifications to support timely and cost-effective purchasing.
  • Collect product samples, brochures, and supplier information, and coordinate approvals for dimensions, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Support the preparation and issuance of requests for quotations (RFQs), perform basic bid comparisons, and compile payment terms for review and approval.
  • Liaise with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favourable terms (e.g., payment, delivery) under the guidance of the Line Manager.
  • Obtain necessary approvals, raise purchase orders with selected suppliers, and follow up to ensure timely delivery as per agreed terms and conditions.
  • Coordinate supplier meetings to address service levels and explore new sourcing opportunities in collaboration with the Line Manager.
  • Assist in identifying maintenance contractors, renewing existing contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of services.
  • Monitor contract performance, including delivery, warranty issues, and compliance with terms, and elevate concerns as needed.
  • Prepare basic reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and market trends for review by the Line Manager.
  • Collaborate with user departments to understand procurement requirements, gather feedback, and ensure smooth execution of procurement tasks.
  • Organise and support the sale and disposal of scrap, obsolete, or salvage items.
  • Track outstanding contracts, payment issues, and other procurement‑related matters, and ensure timely resolution with relevant internal and external parties.
  • Coordinate customs clearance processes for imported shipments, ensuring timely and accurate documentation and compliance with regulations.
  • Act as a point of contact between end‑user departments and suppliers to address queries and resolve minor issues.
  • Support the implementation & maintenance of procurement systems and processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety, Quality, Food Safety, HACCP and Environmental requirements as specified under the company’s QHSE Management System and local regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date procurement records with full traceability, adhering to ISO, BRCGS and internal management procedures.
  • Create knowledgebase and support knowledge and information sharing on procurement matters.
  • Stay updated on procurement trends and developments to support team decision‑making.
Education / Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Purchasing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Additional training or knowledge in materials management is an advantage.
Experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally in manufacturing or a related industry.
  • Exposure to handling procurement of materials such as plastic products, machinery, and accessories is beneficial.
Functional Skills & Specific Knowledge
  • Basic understanding of Quality and ERP systems and procedures.
  • Familiarity with contract negotiation and completion processes.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in communication and relationship management with suppliers and stakeholders.
