Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Process & Maintenance Technician-PCBA in Dubai to maintain PCBA production equipment and processes for optimal performance, reliability and quality. You will troubleshoot equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and drive process improvements in a hands-on role within electronics manufacturing.

The ideal candidate has a diploma or degree in electronics/mechatronics and 5+ years of PCBA experience, with familiarity in PLCs, sensors, and automation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or Mechatronics engineering
• 5+ years of electronics manufacturing experience, preferably PCBA
• Experience with PCBA process and equipment maintenance
• Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, and automation systems
• Practical experience with SMT, soldering and test equipment (Panasonic, Nordson, Ersa, Takaya, Seica)

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on PCBA production equipment (SMT machines, reflow ovens, wave soldering, conveyors, AOI/SPI, ICT/FCT)
• Deploy maintenance planning through Industry 4.0 tools and MES
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and software issues to restore production quickly
• Maintain spare parts inventory and coordinate with suppliers for support
• Collaborate with shifts, engineering, quality and production to ensure stable line performance

As a Process & Maintenance Technician-PCBA , you are responsible for maintaining PCBA production equipment and processes to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and product quality. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment issues, performing preventive maintenance, and implementing process improvements. This role requires strong technical expertise and hands‑on experience, with prior background in electronics manufacturing and equipment maintenance being essential. S/he will maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize PCBA production equipment and processes, ensuring consistent operation, minimal downtime, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

What you’ll do:

• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) on PCBA production equipment such as SMT machines, reflow ovens, wave/selective soldering, conveyors, AOI/SPI, ICT/FCT stations, and supporting equipment.
• Deploy auto-maintenance in PCBA shopfloor through Digital Work Instructions (Maintenance Level1).
• Support MMS deployment through MES tool, to schedule production stops.
• Deploy predictive maintenance tools through Industry 4.0 (I4.0) tools.
• Be the interlocutor or the main point of contact with equipment suppliers when severe breakdown, for fast recovery/remediation plan definition.
• Define and secure real time Maintenance KPIs through I4.0 (RTPPM, MTBF, MTTR,..)
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and software‑related issues to restore production quickly and safely.
• Monitor and adjust process parameters within allowed limits to stabilize product quality, machine performance, and yield.
• Respond rapidly to line stoppages or alarms, working with Operators and Shift Leaders to get equipment back into operation.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment failures and propose corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Support new equipment installations, equipment qualification activities, and minor upgrades initiated by Engineering.
• Maintain and organize spare parts inventory, ensuring critical components are available and coordinating with suppliers for technical support.
• Perform routine equipment checks for cleanliness, calibration indicators, wear components, sensor functionality, and safety interlocks.
• Collaborate with Area Shift Leaders, Shift Leaders, Engineers, Quality, and Production Teams to ensure stable line performance and reduce machine‑related downtime.
• Promote and follow all safety, ESD, lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTO), chemical handling, and environmental requirements; ensure equipment operates safely and compliantly.
• Support continuous improvement in equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, and process optimization by contributing ideas, participating in RCA sessions, and supporting improvement projects.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electronics or Mechatronics engineering
• 5+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, preferably in PCBA process and equipment maintenance
• Proven experience in machine installation, manufacturing process and maintenance departmentsz
• Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, and automation systems.
• Practical experience in troubleshooting and maintaining SMT, soldering, and test equipment, especially with equipment from Panasonic, Nordson, Ersa, Takaya, Seica.

Skills:

• Proficiency in mechanical and electrical diagnostics.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and process documentation.
• Knowledge of ESD safety, preventive maintenance planning, and root cause analysis.
