Job description

Knowledge and expertise operating Manroland/KBA printing machines. Ensures that daily production targets of 48,000 sheets per shift are achieved in relation to required company standards.

Responsibilities

• Study the program of the particular machine.
• Discuss the program with the previous shift operator, including:
  • Happenings in the previous shift.
  • Jobs for the shift.
  • Study the job carefully through the work order envelope.
• Take charge of the shift:
  • Arrange and allocate work responsibilities to crews and lead them for better production.
  • Check materials available for each job (type of board, size of board etc.).
  • Check auxiliary items for printing (ink, varnish, blanket etc.).
  • Explain the information on the work order required for printing to subordinates.
  • Check if colour, text & size are approved before beginning printing.
• Run each job after getting approval from the production supervisor.
• Ensure all quality procedures concerning the production are completed.
• Produce production reports of each shift.
• Ensure the machine has been cleaned and ready for the next shift and keep the workstation clean and tidy after each work.
• Inform the supervisor in writing about machine maintenance, spare parts and consumables.
• Ensure proper action to avoid wastage of material with coordination of immediate superiors.
• Ensure tools and plates are stored properly after use and perform work specifications instructed by supervisors.

Requirements

• Diploma in printing technology or trade certificate for its equivalent.
• Experience in offset printing.
• Knowledge in printing technology.
• At least 3‑10 years’ experience as a machine operator.
