Job summary

Zutari, a premier engineering consultancy with a strong regional footprint, is seeking a Principal Transport Planning and Mobility Engineer in Dubai to lead complex transport projects across the GCC. The role requires strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and technical excellence in mobility solutions.

You will oversee multi-disciplinary teams, develop transport models, and drive policy input for sustainable urban mobility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Transport Planning or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience delivering complex transport and mobility projects.
• Experience in a Western country desirable to bring international best practices, but not essential.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and contribute to strategic planning and urban mobility initiatives.
• Proficiency in transport modelling tools such as VISUM, VISSIM, Aimsun, Cube, or similar.

• Manage project teams, timelines, and budgets across various stages of planning.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, stakeholder engagement capabilities, and a deep understanding of sustainable and smart mobility solutions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s degree or PHD in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in delivering complex transport and mobility projects.
• Demonstrated experience working in a Western country (e.g., UK, Europe, North America, Australia/New Zealand) is highly desirable, but not essential, to bring innovative thinking, international best practices, and new approaches to transport and mobility challenges.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and contribute to strategic planning and urban mobility initiatives.
• Proficiency in transport modelling tools (e.g., VISUM, VISSIM, Aimsun, Cube, or similar).
• Strong understanding of sustainable transport, active mobility, and smart city integration.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and report-writing skills.
• Previous experience in the GCC is an advantage but not essential.
