Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a qualified engineer to study and supervise marine projects, develop concepts, and prepare TORs for consultancy services. The role involves coordinating with contractors and Dubai Municipality units, budgeting, reporting, and ensuring compliance during construction and warranty periods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• 6 years of experience in marine or civil engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Study marine projects and supervise their implementation, develop proposed concepts, specifications and engineering designs, and prepare TORs for related consultancy services, including evaluation and approval of materials, shop drawings, and work execution methods.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants and Dubai Municipality units on marine project services under supervision, resolving design or execution challenges.
• Prepare annual financial budgets for classified marine projects, review change orders and assess financial and contractual impacts, and draft supplementary clauses and amendments to contracts.
• Prepare and draft reports, correspondence and memoranda related to complex marine projects, and periodic reports on completed works with deviations and recommendations.
• Conduct scheduled site visits to monitor progress, verify materials meet specs, ensure contractors adhere to agreements, and follow up on maintenance during warranty period.
• Comply with information security policies and report breaches, and participate in information security training.

• Study marine projects and supervise their implementation, develop proposed concepts, specifications, and engineering designs for such projects, and prepare Terms of Reference (TORs) for the related consultancy services, including the evaluation and approval of materials, shop drawings, and work execution methods.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, relevant organizational units within Dubai Municipality, and concerned government entities on all matters related to the marine project services under supervision, and work to resolve any challenges that may arise during the design or execution processes.
• Prepare annual financial budgets for classified marine projects, review related change orders and assess their financial and contractual impacts, and prepare the wording of supplementary clauses and amendments to the relevant contracts in accordance with established work procedures.
• Prepare and draft reports, correspondence, and administrative and contractual memoranda related to assigned complex marine projects. Prepare periodic reports on completed works, including any deviations and issues arising during the implementation of contracts, the measures taken to address them, and the necessary proposals and recommendations to prevent their recurrence in the future.
• Conduct scheduled site visits to monitor work progress in accordance with approved schedules, verify that materials used comply with technical specifications, ensure that contractors and consultants adhere to the terms and conditions of their agreements, and follow up on post-completion maintenance programs during the warranty period.
• Comply with information security policies and protect data and information in accordance with the Municipality’s approved Data Classification Policy. Report any violations or security breaches through the designated channels and participate in information security-related training programs.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities related to the nature and scope of the position, as assigned.
