Job summary

Playlab is seeking a senior software architect to design and scale our agent runtime infrastructure for massive user growth and real-time collaboration features. You will help shape AI-native curricula and operational models while collaborating with ML teams on data infrastructure for real-time LLM steering.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years building scalable systems, strong Kubernetes/AWS experience, and proficiency in Python or TypeScript.

Qualifications

• 10+ years architecting and building scalable software systems.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and AWS; Terraform knowledge preferred.
• Experience implementing observability, monitoring, and redundancy.
• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript.
• Experience with security and privacy in multi-tenant infrastructure.
• Ability to thrive in high-agency, remote-first, collaborative cultures.

Responsibilities

• Architect new agent runtime infrastructure to support massive user scaling
• Implement foundations for multi-person apps and realtime collaboration features
• Design systems for AI-native curricula and new operational models
• Collaborate with ML teams to build data infrastructure for real-time LLM steering
• Create secure, ephemeral backend sandboxes for custom app functionality
• Contribute to open-sourcing platform components and supporting self-hosted deployments
• Research, design, and implement core systems for rapid AI-native iteration
• Help design engineering culture, technical strategy, and mentor engineers
• Balance experimentation with production excellence, reliability, and observability
