Qualifications

• 2–5 years welding experience in fabrication, construction, manufacturing, or maintenance.
• Technical/vocational welding qualification preferred.
• Good knowledge of welding techniques, equipment and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and welding hazards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit for varied positions and environments.
• Relevant welding certifications are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding with MIG, TIG, ARC/SMAW and other processes.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Prepare, cut, fit, align and assemble components before welding.
• Select welding methods, materials, electrodes and equipment.
• Operate and maintain welding machines and tools.
• Inspect welds for defects and ensure quality standards.
• Carry out grinding, polishing and finishing as required.
• Ensure dimensions and tolerances match drawings.
• Follow welding procedures and quality-control requirements.
• Maintain equipment and report defects.
• Adhere to HSE procedures and keep area safe and organized.
• Coordinate with supervisors, fabricators and fitters to complete work.
• Complete welding within required time and quality standards.
