Job summary

KEOLIS Group in Dubai oversees a critical Power Supply maintenance role for Dubai Metro. You will lead a field team of Power Supply Technicians, supervise preventive and corrective maintenance across HV traction, substations, and LV systems, and ensure safe, reliable operations.

We value hands-on technical leadership, practical experience with SCADA and PLCs, and the ability to document work clearly. This role requires a UAE driving license and readiness for shift work and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years work experience as a power supply maintenance technician, preferably in rail or power utilities.
• Preferably 1 year of supervisory experience leading a team of technicians.
• Vocational trade certificate or diploma in electrical engineering discipline or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead a field team to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on power supply systems including HV traction, stray current & EMC monitoring, substations, LV systems, and UPS.
• Supervise and diagnose causes of electrical or mechanical malfunctions and coordinate repairs.
• Ensure maintenance tools and equipment are in good condition.
• Lead electrical testing, inspect switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers and related components and recommend replacements when needed.
• Follow Serco Dubai Metro procedures to ensure compliance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using a CMMS.
• Assist Power Supply Engineer and technical support staff on complex systems or projects.
• Assist and mentor subordinates with job familiarisation.
• Conduct performance reviews for Power Supply Technicians and participate in disciplinary meetings as needed.

Job description

The purpose of this position is to supervise and lead a team of Power Supply Technicians to provide effective maintenance services covering building services and Power Supply facilities for Dubai Metro.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead a team of Power Supply Technicians out in the field to carry out all level of preventive and corrective maintenance activities and minor modifications on power supply system covering H.V. traction power supplies, stray current & EMC monitoring, sub-stations, L.V. systems & emergency power supplies, uninterrupted power supplies, L.V. main switch, wayside isolators and any other parts within the power supply system.
• Supervise and diagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment, replace faulty equipment and handover/taken back to the electrical workshop for repair.
• Ensure the maintenance tools & equipment are in good condition.
• Lead and conduct periodical electrical testing, stress testing, check motor-control devices, switch panels, transformers, circuit breakers and gas insulated switches, generator windings, solenoids, and other electrical equipment and components and recommend or initiate modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards.
• Follow the relevant procedures and instructions to ensure compliance with Serco Dubai Metro requirements.
• Produce and maintain accurate maintenance records of power supply system and equipment performance, work accomplished and other information using a computerised maintenance management system.
• Assist the Power Supply Engineer and/or other technical support staff to implement complex systems or new projects.
• Assist subordinates with the job familiarisation.
• Conduct performance review for Power Supply Technicians.
• Assist and support in conducting disciplinary and grievance meetings for Power Supply Technicians.
• To be assigned and rotated to the First Line Response Technicians team when required.
• Perform shift and emergency duties when required.
• Drive work vehicles when responding to emergencies and when required on duty.
• Perform and carry out duties as instructed/ directed by the Power Supply Engineer.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

• Working knowledge in 750V DC traction, transmission and distribution, 132K and 33K GIS, 132kV/33kV transformers, reactors, condensers, earthing transformer, high speed DC circuit breakers, cabling system, 3rd rail electrification, power sub-stations and ancillary plant would be a definite advantage.

KEY SKILLS

• Must have good eyesight and normal colour vision.
• Knowledge and experience in operating SCADA control and configuring programmable logic controllers is essential.
• Ability to use and calibrate various electrical and electronics test equipment and PC for the maintenance of power supply system.
• Ability to write simple technical reports, routine business correspondence, prepare method statements and drawings as required.
• Possess good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong organisational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Hold a valid UAE driving license with good driving skill and experience.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 2 years work experience as a qualified power supply maintenance technician in maintaining and repairing power supply and distribution system preferably in a rail or power utilities industry.
• Preferably with 1 year of supervisory experience in supervising a team of qualified power supply maintenance technicians in carrying out the maintenance activities.

EDUCATIONAL & PROFESSIONAL QUALIFCATIONS

• Vocational trade certificate or diploma in electrical engineering discipline or equivalent.
